HSBC continues to build and grow a strong and experienced Leveraged Finance team, with a network of regional offices, capable of transacting complex mid-market private equity backed transactions.
HSBC Leveraged Finance are active in the European mid-market where we continue to support the businesses and their private equity investors with the highest standard of professionalism, innovation and consistency. We are currently looking for an Analyst to join our European Leveraged Finance team based out of Amsterdam.
What you will do:
The candidate/analyst will be responsible for supporting the other deal team members in executing bespoke lending solutions that support and enhance investments and acquisitions made by private equity firms (Financial Sponsors) of European headquartered companies as well as companies operating in the NBFI space. Also, ensuring that the services are provided in line with the relevant HSBC Group standards, regulations, and risk management.
In this role you will be:
- Supporting on the origination and execution of private equity backed transactions across LBOs, Recapitalisations, Refinancings and P2Ps, involving detailed deal structuring, credit and financial analysis.
- Performing in-depth commercial, financial and operational due diligence on target companies incl. analysis of market trends, competition and potential business plans using information obtained from multiple data sources.
- Building detailed financial models (incl. sensitivity analysis) based on due diligence info, participate in management meetings as well as discussions with M&A / debt advisors, financial sponsors and/or sector research.
- Preparing syndication marketing materials for loans (e.g. information memorandums, syndication models and lender presentations).
- Preparing and participating in deal pitches and executing end-to-end client transactions.
- Reviewing and monitoring the ongoing financial performance of portfolio assets.
- Preparing internal and regulatory data reports for Senior Management, Credit and Regulatory submissions (ECB, PRA).
- Co-operating closely with other departments incl. LAF (Leveraged Acquisition Finance), DCM, Syndicate, Sector, and Coverage teams (a.o. Global Relationship Managers) across the global HSBC network
You should apply if you have:
- Relevant experience of up to 2 years within a front office banking environment is preferable, ideally within Leveraged Finance, M&A or Corporate Finance.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills (credit & financial analysis incl. modelling)
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is essential.
- Proficiency in Dutch or another European language would be preferred but is not a strict requirement.
- Ability to work well under pressure whilst adhering to tight deadlines with strong teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
