We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Business Manager.

Business: Wholesale Technology

Principal responsibilities

Customer Charges Reporting and Management:

  • Lead the review and management of customer charges from a GPS CTB and RTB governed perspective.
  • Oversee recharges to GPS business cost centres, ensuring accuracy and governance alignment.
  • Manage the ongoing dispute process and amend CAMS as required.

Balance Sheet Ownership:

  • Own and manage the GPS balance sheet, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Execute impairment exercises and manage capitalisation processes, ensuring integrity of reported numbers.

Cost Management & Recovery:

  • Review and manage direct costs and governed recharge rates to ensure appropriate and correct cost recovery.

Monthly Interlock Review:

  • Ensure Interlock from and to GPS governed portfolios and suppliers are accurate and aligned to forecast/actuals.

Executive Reporting & Presentation:

  • Represent finance data in an executive format for ExCo review, summarising complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Provide insightful analysis of financial positions, outcomes, and resolutions for senior stakeholders.

Stakeholder Communication & Leadership:

  • Effectively communicate complex financial positions and outcomes to senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity and resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner teams as needed to gather information and drive central Tech COO deliverables.

Responsiveness & Deadline Management:

  • Be highly responsive and reachable during working hours to address urgent finance matters.
  • Ensure critical deadlines are met and deliverables are completed on time.
Requirements

Minimal Requirements for the Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial management or financial analysis, preferably within technology finance or banking.
  • Familiarity with HSBC technology, finance systems, and tools (such as HIBS, GPDM, Clarity, and Pioneer) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in managing P&L, cost allocations, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial modeling tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s in Finance) or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA).
  • Experience in HSBC Technology or similar financial services environment.
  • Previous experience with GPS, Payments, or Technology finance in a large organization.
