We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

 

Business: Markets & Sec Services IT 

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Work towards priorities defined by product owners in the business to collaboratively build out the exception management tool.
  • To have a clear view of technology strategy for design & delivery of the technical aspects of the product…focusing on not only business delivery but constant focus on remediating tech debt.
  • Responsible for delivering tasks end to end with high quality and in line with design and architecture layed out. Strive towards no post implementation issues.
  • Production support, environment management, release support and automation implementation to be part of day job.
  • Ensuring that quality (code / performance) and discipline (TDD, BDD, unit, JIRA usage etc) are maintained at all times.
  • Maintaining our Agile and delivery principles.
  • Working with UX and Architecture to ensure that Design Driven ethos is upheld.
  • Collaboration with business and team along with DevOps principles maintained all the time.
  • Design and develop software applications with a focus on backend development, using Java, Oracle and Postgres database technologies.
  • Work with Scrum methodologies to ensure that software development projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain dev ops tooling, automation (G3, Ansible), and Jenkins to ensure that software delivery is streamlined and efficient.
  • Design and develop micro service architectures to support scalable and resilient applications.
  • Use UNIX in general and shell scripting to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Possess bank domain knowledge to understand the business context of the software being developed.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of Continuous Delivery software development methods, including TDD and automated testing (including non-functional testing).
  • Experience of working on high volume data integration and throughput requirements (profiling)
  • Experience of micro service architecture
  • Experience of REST services is advantageous.
  • A background of solid architectural work is advantageous
  • Fluent oral and written English communication skills.
  • JS, HTML5, and React knowledge is a plus.
  • UNIX in general and shell scripting is a plus.
  • Bank domain knowledge is a plus.
  • Technical Specifics:
  • JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Swagger, Jenkins, AutoDepoyment scripting, BDD (Selenium, Gherkin)
  • SpringBoot components, Spring Integration and Spring Batch
  • Oracle, PL/SQL, JPA
  • Netflix framework
  • Unix shell scriptingWorking experience as a technical lead in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
  • Experience with Data Virtualization Tools
  • Familiar with deployment automation tools such as Ansible, etc
  • Knowledgeable of Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins, Maven and GitHub
  • High familiarity with the workings of Java, Spring, WAS, Oracle DB, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB and Python as well as possessing expertise in cloud platforms such as Google and / or AWS
  • Team-player and team-builder, work comfortably in constantly evolving environment, and demonstrate calmness and composure in times of uncertainty and stress.
  • Thorough understanding of Agile
  • Experience in manual and automation test scripting a plus
  • Experience in performance and scalability test a plus.
  • Self-motivator, able to work alone but also able to understand when to ask for help
