Head of analytics

 

Role Purpose. The Head of Data Analytics position is responsible for defining the strategy for the implementation of advanced analytics. Additionally, he is responsible for coordinating efforts with IT, business and function teams for the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of advanced analytics and data quality processes.Manages and coordinates the Data Analytics team that will support and guide the businesses and functions in best practices.It will align the use of the correct tools for the solutions to be implemented in conjunction with global, regional and local strategies.Supports the adoption of being a data-driven company and the constant innovation of processes and solutions

Main activities:

  • Drive Data Analytics strategy and tooling, as well as guidance and support to business and functions
  • Consult with stakeholders to determine data requirements, to interpret   data and to support decision making
  • Oversee the generation of data from HSBC systems as well as external   sources. These may be forecasts, sales analyses, expenditure reports, scenario models, statistical analyses, organisational metrics and benchmark   reports.
  • Lead or participate on the design and delivery of reporting applications   and data tools
  • Examine data analyses to detect trends and anomalies or to evaluate   business activities such as product sales
  • Suggest remedial actions or escalate detections which give cause for   concern
  • Share information with stakeholders in suitable forms, these may be   charts, tables or templates
  • Maintain data and information sources
  • Manage the provision of developmental activity for team members and oversee their work schedules   to ensure optimum coverage for stakeholders

Ensure that the team adhere to prevailing data standards, policies and   regulations

Requirements

• Keep updated the tooling and knowledge (languages, solutions, tools) used in accordance with global strategies and decisions.

• Monitoring and identification of improvements in Data Quality and Data Analytics processes and transactions

• Responsible for the automation of the continuous integration or supply development work lines of a product or service development operations team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

• Increase the number of CDEs evaluated for data quality and improve / increase the quality rules applied to them.

• Generate information analysis that is aligned to data priorities

• Keep the documents related to the Data Analytics framework updated.

• Apply internal customer satisfaction surveys.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable controls and regulations, including the relevant service management standard. Ensuring the presence of high-quality data in the registry's service management systems

• Ensure compliance with service resilience, service sustainability, and recovery time objectives for all solutions provided.

• Stay up-to-date and develop expert-level knowledge in current tools, technologies and relevant areas, such as Machine Learning, and on regulations on aspects such as data privacy, consent, data residency and other related topics. .

 

Technical requirements:

• Structured programming (Linux, SQL, Shell)

• ETL tools (preferably IBM Information Analyzer, DataStage, Pentaho)

• English at High Level

 

Optional:

• Languages for analytical model development (R, Python)

• Visual analytics tools (preferably Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI)

• Knowledge of non-object-oriented databases (Hadoop, MongoDB, Vertica)

• Cloud development (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• Cloud tools (BigQuery, TensorFlow)
