We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Americas Head of Liquidity working together with colleagues to manage the liquidity of HSBC’s Americas businesses.


The role holder will oversee a team based across the US, Canada and Mexico.  Leading the team and fostering connectivity with global stakeholders and colleagues will require strong communication skill. The incumbent is expected to optimize liquidity in consideration of the various constraints and propagate best practices within the region and globally.

You will be responsible for:

  • Having a deep appreciation for the sources and uses of liquidity across multiple entity balance sheets and partnering with stakeholders across entities, functions, and businesses to manage the end-to-end liquidity processes. This will include engagement with local regulators, reporting into Asset & Liability Committees, driving local forecasting, planning and overall liquidity steering.
  • Supporting informed risk management and optimization decisions to reducing liquidity and operating costs.
  • Developing and fostering collaborative and productive relationships with relevant stakeholders within entities, Global Businesses and Global Functions (e.g. business line FRM, Global Risk Analytics, entity CFO’s, Group Analysis & Insights etc), second line of defense, internal audit, and regulators.
  • Developing and leading a functional team consisting of in-person and remote staff, creating opportunities to learn and deliver against objectives.
  • Proven record of disciplined delivery across topics with a wide range of stakeholders. This could, though not exclusively, have been developed through leading projects
  • Strong influencing, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Result oriented team player who can foster strong and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders
