Principal responsibilities
Delivery and Application Management
• Primary accountability is to develop hands-on the most appropriate Channel Agnostic Information Services related IT solutions for China and Global to support multiple channels as generic as possible in line with strategic solution design, to meet customer needs, ensuring continuous improvement.
• End to end accountable for Channels Information Service products and services primarily for China and contribute / align to Global services, identifying and developing the most appropriate IT solutions to meet customer needs as part of the Customer Journey taking cost and high productive deliverables.
• Responsible for Production support, maintenance and operational activities primarily for China IT applications under Information Services and align / contribute to global solutions. Drive continuous service improvement through the China Information Services IT solutions with key focus on improvement and quality.
• Responsible for ensuring products and services maintain compliance with mandatory and regulatory requirements, adherence to group controls and remediation activities. Drive best engineering practises across the Information Services China team and collaborate with peer HSBCnet teams to drive across.
• Work closely with business stakeholders from China and global business partners to deliver enhancements and support driving service improvements overall, keeping customer experience as top priority and deliver the same.
• Accountable for the operational stability, integrity and availability of products and services supported by the pod
• Accountable for the performance of the pod activities and maintaining performance in line with benchmark objectives (inc productivity, quality and effectiveness measures)
• Support the solution architect to ensure that solutions and services are supported by the right architectures & systems and adhere to the standards laid down.
People Management
• Develop and manage high performing team to meet present and future needs
• Develop Talent and leadership at all levels including opportunities for growth, stretch roles, global leadership, and succession for key/critical roles.
• Attract, develop, and retain talent across delivery leadership and technical/functional SME and Lead performance management including compensation, vertical/lateral progression, and reward & recognition globally.
• Strong HANDS-ON Technology experience including 18+ years of leadership experience leading large-scale programs of transformation and core change in large technology organizations in end-to-end delivery.
• Strong hands-on Technology expertise to lead the diverse tech delivery teams. Be a go-getter and challenge the status-quo. Strong eye to the detail and experience managing complex stakeholder spread across regions.
• Experience of delivering large scale Tech programs by driving teams including managers, engineers, designers, large vendor resources etc. across multiple locations and geographies in matrix model (May not have direct responsibility of all of the resources).
• Deep understanding of global technology trends especially in Information Services - Accounts Information and Reporting domain
• Strong business and technology acumen, and proven experience in building a vision and developing strategy supporting the vision.
• Strong Development Background with experience delivering complex projects using Agile and DevSecOps.
• Good understanding of Commercial Banking Domain, working experience and strong knowledge on Digital channels spanning across user profiles, entitlements, notifications, payments and information services like account information and reporting.
• Strong knowledge on standard industry messages like swift (MT messages), ISO formats
• Experience working on Microservices, Java/J2EE, REACT and Mainframe (CICS and DB2), MongDB, Oracle and Cloud Technologies
• Excellent communication skills. Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate solutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Good Analysis, Design and Coding skill
• Determine technical and business suitability of proposed Data requirements with architect, developers and other relevant team members and provide recommendations.
• Validate proposed solutions with business representatives and technical team to ensure solutions and restrictions are clearly understood.
• Define and document solutions and changes producing comprehensive documents supported by structured analysis techniques and methodologies.
• Experience in ITSO Activities like patching, DR activity, vulnerability management.
• Conversant on Gen AI and adoption of Gen AI projects in alignment to the business problems
• Expertise in leading cross location multiskilled Diverse global teams
