Global Trade and Receivables Finance

Global Trade and Receivables Finance comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs. Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Commercial Banking - GTRF Services team.

Job Introduction

The purpose of the role is to manage transaction, multiple processing or checker teams. The remit area may be an entire country, entire region or may be global and may cater for single or multiple business areas in HSBC. The nature of the activities may include account servicing, client onboarding, payments, sanctions screening, internal business services, internal transactions and credit services.

The job category will carry out some or all of the following: 

  • Assisting with the liaison with GSC team which is engaged in processing of transactions and checking.
  • Assisting with the management of reconciliation and audit activity and management of escalated matters.
  • Ensure tasks are executed in line with Service Level Agreements and all prevailing regulations.
  • Assisting with the management of relationships with internal and where applicable, any external stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the management of work schedules, resources and budgetary planning for the unit.
  • Ensure that the unit is equipped with systems, resources and expertise to support the unit objectives.
  • Meet customers as per agreed schedule and ensure that feedback on servicing is positive consistently.

Core Responsibilities

This is a Process Manager/Team role (GCB 5) within the GTRF Transaction Services Team based at Ahmedabad.

The incumbent is expected to:

  • Manage an on-site vendor team deployed for scanning documents.
  • Plan transaction flows/BAU for GTRF clients across GB and CMB LOBs.
  • Interface with GSC Team for transaction processing.
  • Work closely with Area Head GTRF Services, Trade Business Development Managers and Client Service Managers to meet clients’ expectations on transaction processing.
  • Monitor Suspense & Nostro Accounts to ensure that entries are passed promptly.
  • Ensure Primary & Secondary Reviews of Control Reports are completed by the team as per GOP.  
  • Organize Trade Academies and Knowledge Sharing Sessions for GTRF clients in coordination with CSM Team.
  • Manage RBI, Concurrent and Internal Audits.
  • Support the coordination of RBI approvals for GTRF clients where transactions sit outside the ambit of the Bank.
  • Respond to queries from various statutory and regulatory bodies such as Income Tax, Sales Tax, Enforcement Directorate, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, RBI, SEBI, etc.
  • Contribute to process efficiency and streamlining initiatives/projects and work in coordination with Area Head GTRF Services – WI and other Team Leads & Area Heads to take them to conclusion.
Requirements
  • Graduate / Post Graduate Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of work experience of which 3 to 5 years should be in Trade Operations role.
  • Thorough knowledge of Internal Processes, FEMA and RBI Regulations as applicable to GTRF transactions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Client and business centric approach and solution orientation, balanced with pragmatism and strong control focus so that there are no process lapses.
  • Excellent people management skills.
