Job Purpose
Fixed Income Sales Department is responsible for covering banks and insurance companies for vanilla fixed income products including cash rates & derivatives, credit, PP’s and flow financing. The team also focuses on EM products distribution in Japan in addition to G10. This sales position is expected to take initiative to enhance multi-products by deeply communicating with internal product teams and deliver the variety of product solutions for investor base. The position also requires to have deep understanding of clients’ demand for Securities Financing and explore demand for the business
Principal Accountabilities:
Impact on the Business/Function
- Business as usual transaction execution following pricing from relevant trading team. Develops knowledge of client needs & requirements; coordinates efforts to service client organizations
- Supports senior sales in serving operational things and co-working with other sales team and assistant to run the business.
- Business as usual escalation point for client concerns / operational issues where Front Office can contribute to resolution or which could have a relationship impact and requires further escalation.
- The job requires close cooperation with Operation team in serving transactions smoothly.
- Deliver trade ideas and relevant and targeted HSBC content

• Maintain a robust and efficient control environment to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise.
• Help with the development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.
• Implementation of policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.

The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structure referred to as the ‘Three Lines of Defence’. The jobholder should ensure they understand their position within the Three Lines of Defence, and act accordingly in line with operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure of actions required.
Through the implementation the Global AML, Sanctions and ABC Policies, supporting Guidance, and Line of Business Procedures the jobholder will make informed decisions in accordance with the core principles of HSBC's Financial Crime Risk Appetite.
Certifications, Qualifications & Experience
- A BA or MA Degree in Finance or Economics or relevant job experience is preferable as the Job requires a sound understanding of Global Markets.
- The Candidate must be able to demonstrate good client relationships with the core client base and have good communication skills both in English and Japanese.
Under the Company's internal 'Back to Front'/’Front to Back’ transfer policy this role may be classed as High Risk. As a result, internal candidates may require enhanced approvals and vetting checks if they are currently employed in a Front Office department, or if they have worked in a Front Office department within the last 5 years (please refer to the HR FIM definition for further guidance). The enhanced approvals and vetting would need to be completed before the candidate will be confirmed in the role.
