Revised tax treaties and new centralised depository and clearing infrastructures are new challenges that are often without precedent in other markets

·         TKY CNC currently ranks among the top CNC unit in MSS Asia - in terms of both volume of transaction and value of assets held under custody. In 2021, TKY CNC processed 6.3 million transactions and the assets held in custody was USD990 billion

·         TKY CNC’s growth in recent years is spurring the competitors to become increasingly aggressive and determined. In addition to sub-optimal pricing strategy, reciprocity is regularly used as a defence/marketing tool.  Amid such competition, TKY CNC is tasked with aggressive growth plans and  must enhance its market position without sacrificing profitability or operational efficiency

·         The Jobholder is often faced with challenges without any precedents in other markets. Principal guidelines under which the Jobholder operates are Group/Functional Instruction Manuals, Departmental Operational Procedure Manuals, ASP MSS guidelines and regulations. Regulatory requirements are often ambiguous and the Jobholder will be required to work closely

Role Purpose:

·         Lead, supervise and process the team’s operations with regard to asset servicing (including income / dividend notification, income / dividend payment, corporate action notification, corporate action entitlement, tax reclaim, proxy voting, registration, and shareholder information update, etc.), by ensuring maximum efficiency and compliance with regulatory / functional guidelines

·         Manage asset servicing operation projects, including system enhancement

·         Support the manager of the asset servicing team

·         Contribute to the organization growth as Assistant Vice President

Principal Accountabilities:

·         By maintaining strong team, assist to attract more market share in custody business in Japan.

·         Lead and guide immediate subordinates in the respective asset servicing team

·         Check and approve:

ü  Collect corporate action information

ü  Process to send corporate action information to clients

ü  Process to calculate corporate action entitlement for clients

ü  Process corporate action instructions for clients

ü  Process corporate action payment to clients

ü  Process Proxy Voting

ü Maintain updated shareholding information in depository

ü  Process reconciliation of corporate actions

ü  Process tax reclaim

ü  Process DTT rate for applicable clients

ü  Process physical certificate handling

ü  Manage JASDEC AC information

·         Inquiry handling

·         Needful investigation on any matters related to asset servicing UAT

·         Project Management

·         Control on Operations

·         Efficiency creation

·         Support Team Manager of the Asset Servicing Team

·         Assist contribution to the growth of HSS market profile

·         Reply to inquiries from clients

·         Manage effective / appropriate communication with internal parties, such as Client Service and Operation Teams in Kuala Lumpur.

·         Obtain and keep the most updated information

·         Positively influence on the team members / colleagues / stakeholders with appropriate manners

·         proactively communicate with the team members / colleagues / stakeholders with appropriate manners

·         Enable back up capability/ knowledge of manager and pier positions in the asset servicing team

·         Do process review/ enhancement/quality control and suggest a solution to his/her immediate supervisor

Information

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

·         Knowledge of securities / custody and claering / asset management business gained through 5-10 yaers of experience.

·         Knowedge of corporate actions (JASDEC/BOJ operational engementment, information capture, entitlement, instruction, payment, tax reclaim, DTT, reporting, reconciliation) or potential to gain within 3 months

·         Knowedge and experiece of System enhancement project (Must)

·         Ability to communicate clearly in English with stakeholders including cleints and offshore oepration teams: Business level of English & Native level of Japanese required (Written, Reading, and Speaking and Listening) (Must)

·         Knowledge and skilss of in-house/external system (JASDEC, BOJ Net etc.) or potential to gain within 3 month

·         Basic knowledge of banking business (e.g. cash payment)

·         PC skills including familiarity with MS Office

·         JSDA – Certified Securities Broker Representative (Preferred. If not, woul be required to obtain the certification after entering the company at some point)

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·         Passion to develop careers over the mid-long term in the organization with eager to manage the team in the future

·         Strong people management skills
