We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Country Head of Global Payments Solutions.

Principal Responsibilities 
  • Lead the Global Payments Solutions (GPS) franchise for Sri Lanka and Maldives whilst reporting to the Country Head of Wholesale Banking Sri Lanka and the Country Head of GPS - India functionally.
  • Manage and hold ultimate responsibility to develop high level country strategy for the GPS Business.
  • Be responsible in delivering underlying business growth by leading teams that provide digital solutions at scale, maximizing product penetration and new to bank acquisitions by identifying and capturing growth opportunities, plus promoting/enhancing its footprint within the existing base via cross sales.
  • Be responsible for Planning, Executing and Evaluating the overall digital strategy and day to day operations of payment solution implementation and client servicing teams.
  • Be accountable to put in place, motivate and manage the required solution teams and overall direct cost discipline inclusive of run the bank spend covering information systems and electronic data whilst delivering on key business priorities by being an enabler ensuring absence of blockages / inhibitors internally and externally.
  • Be accountable for establishing adequate controls, apply sound risk management and governance within overall country and business appetite.
  • Represent the Bank at an industry level on aspects of financial technology solutions and actively participate, consult, and enable policy level enhancements with regulators for the safe growth of the industry.
  • Drive liability growth to the required bank level need and ensure pricing to deliver optimized margins in a fair trade off.
  • Collaborate with product partners to ensure that the payment journey is consistently optimized by being a catalyst to foster good relations between key internal and external stakeholders including Regulatory bodies, IT vendors, Coverage partners, GPS Operations, 2nd line of Defenses and other downstream partners.
  • Drive people leadership across the team to ensure that colleagues have the skills and capabilities to execute the strategy, development plans and discussions are actively encouraged, there is a focus on D&I and succession plans are developed for the key roles in the team.  
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years working in the banking industry covering Transactional Banking and/or Cash Management within Wholesale Banking.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Able to demonstrate effective communication and influencing skills, and experience in operating within larger cross-functional organizations with matrix environment.
  • An agile self-starter (‘learning-by-doing’ attitude), with a curious mindset and strong eye on detail.
  • Lateral thinker with strong analytical and good problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in product governance, sales acquisition, client management, business transformation and/or operations.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple business and technology partners to drive innovation and deliver product enhancements.
  • Commercially minded and focused on customer outcomes.
  • Ability to lead and motivate large teams to ensure delivery of objectives in a timely and effective manner.
  • A team-worker with effective interpersonal skills and stakeholder management skills at senior level.
  • A highly motivated and committed individual with a deep desire to learn, excel, and transform.
  • Familiar with current and future industry trends relating to account propositions, payments, liquidity, digital, macro-opportunities, and risks.
