  • Global Analytics Centre (GAC) provides support to various business groups and functions to drive analytics in decision making. The job responsibilities include data analysis, design, validation and calibration of credit, market and operational risk models. In addition, GAC also supports credit risk strategy development and implementation, monitoring and validation. This forms the basis for strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges.
  • CIIOM Credit Risk Strategy team is a key functional area within Retail Risk Analytics. The function supports Development, Deployment support and Monitoring of Strategies, Financial Resource Planning (FRP), Model Deployment Support for retail portfolios in CIIOM.
  • The principal responsibility of this role relates to CIIOM which comes under overall Continental Europe business. The position will report into Senior AVP - Strategy & PI, Europe WPB Risk Lead and will be responsible for all CIIOM and other EU countries Credit Risk Strategy related activities along with some wider strategic initiatives. This role would be key point of contact between CIIOM stakeholders and offshore and will be expected to guide and mentor other team members, provide innovative solutions and ideas, and showcase growth mindset for CIIOM.

What you’ll do:

  • The role involves managing Stress Testing, Retail Credit impairments, Impairment related activities like LIC latest estimate, FRP, Insight generation from data and reports, Governance and Oversight and Control of regular reporting. The role also entails regular monitoring of existing reports, reviewing portfolio, and finding opportunities for further improvement (growth / risk-control). This role will entail oversight, project management & planning. The requirements include (but not limited to):
  • Provide strategic and analytical support to the region, and design analytical solutions which are key enablers of growth for a Region while remaining within the Risk-appetite and ensuring adequate risk controls.
  • This is to be done by understanding the business problem / context and translating them to analytical solution-based framework.
  • Manage the annual projection of LIC and ECL related to Retail Credit Risk for each EU country, understand the market dynamics and evaluate the current position of the components of the LIC and adjusting for rest of the year and next year. Also support monthly LIC latest estimate and submit to the Credit Risk Impairment team.
  • Conduct portfolio reviews/ analysis and provide insights/ share best practices across regions that could strengthen credit control and enhance portfolio risk monitoring. Identify early warning signals and risks/opportunities in the portfolio and come up with a solution design to address the same.
  • Provide support through active role in cross-functional coordination to ensure smooth and timely deployment of Strategy and PI priorities.
  • Negotiation with / expectation management of stakeholders on complex open-ended business problems
  • Additionally, the jobholder will coordinate with the Unsecured Risk area on any analytical requirements to project manage day to day activities and ensure adherence to regulatory and governance standards.
  • Keep self-updated of changes in the business / regulatory environment on an ongoing basis, to be able to anticipate customer needs, and support non-BAU projects / ad-hoc analysis as relevant, ensuring key takeaways are clearly articulated.
  • Develop presentations that are “Business Ready”, to appropriately showcase the work done with appropriate story-telling and insightful interpretation of trends.
  • Critically evaluate process requirement, and streamline / automate / standardize accordingly, to bring in effectiveness and gain efficiency. Ensure release of target bandwidth.
  • Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable.
  • Proficiency in SAS and Excel is a must. Python knowledge is good to have.
  • Policy rule optimization across brands, affordability assessments, and regulatory submissions for Bermuda, CIIOM and France. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for LIC latest estimations, various analytical tasks, ad-hoc activities, and ongoing BAU support. The person will also need to naviagte business requirements within the team in a simple language and get the work done.
  • This role is essential in providing comprehensive support to EU countries, Group requirements, RDM initiatives, and other key Risk priorities. The existing team is fully engaged with their current responsibilities and does not have the additional capacity to absorb these tasks. Furthermore, requests from Group and individual countries continue to grow, necessitating dedicated resources. To ensure operational efficiency and maintain a sustainable workload for the team, it is critical to backfill this position.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • At least 7+ years of overall Analytics Experience with prior experience in managing risk activities in retail risk.
  • Prior experience in strategic analysis and portfolio management would be preferred.
  • Excellent quantitative & technical aptitude. Ability to solve open-ended business problems.
  • Proven track record in dynamic/changing marketing environments.
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • B.Tech or Masters or Ph. D. degree in either Economics, Statistics, Engineering or any quantitative area or MBA (with quantitative background)

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Relevant experience in wider Risk Analytics domain, specifically in the fields like stress testing, loss forecasting etc.
