This role is part of the Group Functions Insights & Analytics team in DAO, which delivers qualitative and quantitative Management Information (MI), supports business reporting, identifies opportunities to streamline processes by harnessing strategic data platform technologies, aligned with our Future State Architecture (FSA).
The Opportunity:

The role holder will be a member of an Optimisation team within Group Functions Insights & Analytics, focusing on evaluating processes and driving transformative changes (including Technology) to ensure teams are future-ready.
What you’ll do:

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Ability to analyse complex processes, perform data analysis / data discovery, identify inefficiencies and opportunities for optimisation, automation or digitisation. 
  • Re-design processes to leverage latest available technology for scalability, speed or cost reduction.
  • Collaborate in agile delivery pods together with other business stakeholders and Technology / Platform teams.
  • Ensure deliverables meet data governance standards, such as data accuracy, data lineage transparency, data consistency and security.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies (e.g. GenAI) and industry trends to propose forward- thinking solutions that could drive business efficiency gains.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Experience in Innovation and Optimisation change projects / programmes, including evaluating existing process workflows, structures and systems, data & reporting optimisation etc.
  • Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of database systems (relational and non-relational databases) and the current data landscape in HSBC is highly sought after. Knowledge and understanding in one or multiple data domains would be an advantage.
    Technical skills in a data-related platform / tooling and programming languages is highly sought after e.g. Alteryx, Microsoft Power Apps, Python, SQL.
  • Good understanding of banking operations and processes, preferably in Risk, Compliance and Finance functions.  
  • Proven experience working in Agile environments (Kanban / Scrum) and familiarity with Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills.  Ability to navigate within the organization
  • Proficient skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Experience with project/collaboration tools such as JIRA, SharePoint and Confluence will be advantageous 
  • Strong team player with ability to work with global teams and offshore resources.
