The Opportunity:
Role purpose
The role will have primary responsibility for leading Accounts & SSI Data Ops Funds team. The role will demand full cooperation and interaction with Country office investor services team, and accounting and valuation teams, as well as client management and business development. This involves ensuring that all deliverables agreed in client service level documents are delivered against plan.
The Accounts & SSI Data Ops Funds team is responsible for extending support of the existing systems infrastructure from a business perspective.
The job role of the AVP is to lead and manage the Static Data Utility team in Kolkata/Bengaluru. Accounts & SSI Data Ops Funds team is responsible for extending support of the existing systems infrastructure from a business perspective.
Management of operational processes to meet or exceed service level requirements
Accountable for continuous process improvement of existing processes and migration of new functions from the country office locations.
Drive key employee initiatives to promote and position MSSO as the employer of choice.
Accounts & SSI Data Ops Funds team provides support across the platforms, including account / static set up and Business Utilities. The Accounts & SSI Data Ops Funds team is responsible for:
Supporting Global Product Delivery portfolios & Service delivery with delivery of complex and competing priorities.
System Upgrade and software roll out.
Monitoring and incident management.
BAU Change for existing client - fund set up, reporting writing, configuration. The role will have primary responsibility for leading Accounts & SSI Data Ops Funds teams in City office – Kolkata/Bengaluru

The role:
Typically managing 25 FTE
Cost USD 1m-2m, dependent on local site costs
Alternative and Traditional clients, supporting product / sub products on a global basis as follows:
Single Product: Transfer Agency Services and Custody.
Multiple Sub Product: Trade Processing, Static Data, Settlements, Reporting and Ops Support
Focus on:

What you’ll do:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
Impact on the Business
Maintain and enhance the reputation of MSS for service delivery through effective and continual interaction with key clients, providing apt technical input and feedback.
Ensure adequate, deployment and co-ordination of all staff involved in the delivery of client service.
Ensure that all services provided to clients are appropriately positioned and executed and follow up with operational departments where the service levels do not meet expectations.
Independently work with the up/downstream processes to manage the quality-of-service delivery.
Monitor and complete KPIs to be used in driving client service and service quality improvements.
Evolve a framework which enables continued year on year improvement on client service KPIs and client feedback.
Lead and Monitor service quality feedback from clients and Operations against internal and external SLA agreements, ensuring effective follow-up to drive service quality issues and required improvements.
Develop and maintain working relationships with senior operational personnel.
Independently and efficiently Undertake regular internal reporting highlighting service trends and efficiency initiatives.
Document and maintain Service Level Agreements, incorporating client change requests and ensure all changes are correctly logged and agreed at least annually by clients.
Proficiently Complete measurable efficiency improvement initiatives.
Ensures that all live applications are performing at their optimum and meeting the standards required by the operational teams to support the MSS business by monitoring and trouble shooting incidents.
Deliver & support system-based change/enhancements in keeping with above.
Leads Cost Management
Identify and focus on analyzing errors that lead to financial claims.
Responsible for ensuring to Set-up effective controls to avoid recurrence.
Methodically incorporate systems to Ensure there is a cost control culture and overall costs are within projection.
Optimise participation and assist and provide data towards achieving the Business Partner cost model and the building of a framework to determine unit costs to drive pricing decisions.
Implement cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
Strategically engage with team and manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximize end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency.
Meticulously cultivate and maintain a robust and efficient control environment across ensure rigorous and proactive operational, financial and project management strategies and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise.
Lead, steer and guide the development, implementation and maintenance of a management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.
Lead the implementation and oversight of policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
Controls & Risk Mitigation
Establish robust processes to ensure that deliverables are met as per the agreed PLA.
Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure risks mitigation.
Ensure implementation of audit recommendations within stipulated timelines.
Maintain and operate under standards stipulated by the Group.
Ensure that there are no regulatory and compliance breaches.
Implement a process to monitor and analyze errors against the inherent risks in the process and implement suitable controls to mitigate such risks.

What you will need to succeed in the role:
Functional Knowledge
Advanced Investment Administration experience essential
Application support experience highly desirable.
At least 2 - 3 years' leadership experience / exposure in the Transfer Agency Industry, Accounting and valuation System
Others
A degree in finance/accounting or any related professional qualification in Securities Services. Postgraduate/MBA desirable General Investment Administration experience essential
Ability to own assigned pieces of work and show a sense of pro-activeness, responsibility and ownership.

IOC certification preferable.
Should have an eye for detail and a strong analytical mind.
