We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our HSBC Amanah team in the role of Analyst Wholesale Banking, HBMS

Principal Responsibilities

  • To assist head of GB Amanah in structuring of Islamic and sustainability linked financing transactions for the Global Banking business in Malaysia. This entails close coordination with coverage teams to identify opportunities for Islamic finance products offering. For sustainability finance solutions, to lead and liaise with global ESG teams to ensure smooth execution to clients.
  • To assist Head GB Amanah to deliver the mandate of being the 1st sustainable Bank of the Group by 2022. All initiatives for this mandate is outlined in Project cocoon and making sure Amanah is the leader in sustainable Finance space in the industry.
  • To execute business strategy of GB HSBC Amanah based on budget given on each financial year. This budget is set based on each product lines and growth target will be monitored frequently. Frequent performance update will be presented to Exco & Board of Directors.
  • To maintain cross border business growth through asset booking in Financial Institutions and Corporate spaces. To implement strategy for cross border business, and ensure adequate controls in place from a risk management perspective. Candidate’s focus will be more to International financing in accordance with the Bank’s strategy and the income potential.
  • To assist in execution of Islamic transactions, both in financing and debt capital markets for Asia Pacific region and local DCM transactions. HSBC wishes to maintain our position as the leading international Sukuk and Islamic Financing House, therefore candidate need to assist in delivering this growth.
  • Coordinating internally with legal (transaction management), shariah and externally with transaction counsels in respect of fulfilment and completion of all Islamic related transaction documentation. Act as intermediary between Business unit and Shariah Committees to obtain all necessary approvals for transaction documentation and structure, in obtaining the Shariah Pronouncement required for the banking facilities.
  • Maintain internal risk and regulatory compliance and policies to be in line with the Bank’s and industry standards when executing all transactions.This is based on HSBC standard processes and policies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of corporate/commercial banking experience
  • Possess strong analytical skills
  • Good understanding of financial statements and analysis
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
