The Opportunity:
- The Analyst/Senior Analyst(s) will be an integral part of the global Commercial Banking teams and will work closely with the teams on the origination, execution, research, portfolio management and other related activities on event driven transactions for public and private corporate clients
- Supporting Commercial Banking clients by collaborating with relationship bankers and product teams
- The role is part of GBM Service Center and based at Bangalore
What you’ll do:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)
- Working extensively in an integrated team environment with global investment banking and commercial banking professionals on ideas, pitch books and presentations across sectors and countries
- Focus on supporting origination and execution of credit deals and capital market solutions (Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Strategic Equity Financing etc.), alongside originating and structuring of syndicated loans
- Acquiring in-depth understanding of the market, industry and business environment. This understanding enables the firm to design customized solutions for clients - whether it is strategic initiatives like capital financing or risk management solutions
- Working on a very wide variety of transactions with HSBC bankers from across the world
Leadership & Teamwork
- Support global teams in deal, market or sector related research, origination and execution
- Support the deal team through coordinated coverage and global-local infrastructure
- Participate in team meeting / team activities and work towards sustaining team spirit
- Support achievement of team objectives & participate in the development of cohesive teams
- Contribute to the creation of a supportive work environment driven by people centric values
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Functional Knowledge
- Exceptionally qualified MBA’s (with good CGPA score) and CA’s with Big four (E&Y, PWC, Deloitte, KPMG) experience
- Ability to establish professional relationship with the team members and product partners
- Corporate / investment banking, finance / accounting, or transaction services industry experience, with exposure to leveraged and acquisition finance or the broader structured finance environment
- Strong capability in financial modelling, credit analysis and credit presentation, with an understanding and ability to structure complex event driven transactions
- Proficient in preparing presentation materials, conducting industry and product research
- Working knowledge of MS Excel/MS PowerPoint, along with financial databases and research platforms like Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Factset, MergerMarket etc.
- Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills to ensure ability to manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines.
- Sound understanding of banking products and services, including ECM, DCM, Trade, Cash Management, and Interest Rate / FX Markets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with ability to interact at a senior and strategic level.
- Excellent level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues
- Highly motivated; strong work ethic; thrives under pressure, confident, team player
