We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an Assistant Manager HSS Service Delivery.
Role Purpose
Ensures trades are settled and registered with the BSP on time and in accordance with client's instructions and in compliance with procedures, SLAs, minimum service standards, and policies in order to achieve high level of client satisfaction and operational efficiency, and avoid claims, penalties or sanctions from regulators.
Principal Accountabilities:
Maintaining high standards of operational efficiency
- Adhere to the standards and procedures outlined in the Operating Manual, Service Level Agreements, and the department’s Minimum Service Standards.
- Sort client instructions, capture, repair non-STP instructions, match, and cancel instructions in GHSS
- Pre-match instructions with counterparties (brokers, custodian banks, GSEDs, other banks) and update pre-matching status.
- Proper processing of physical shares, Prior to 1973 shares, and no BSRD shares.
- Ensure proper CBO/NCBO confirmation and supporting documentation for free of payment trades.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment from counterparties are received/effected and proper documentation is in place, before settlement in various depository systems and GHSS.
- Inputs and checks trade details in the various depository systems.
- Prepares vouchers/Cashier’s orders as needed.
- Determine and monitor source and availability of funding for Receipt Against Payment trades.
- Perform maintenances or approvals in eBSRD
- Monitor problematic trades and failed trades daily and ensure these are given immediate action/solution and exhaust all means to achieve high settlement rates.
- Ensure timely and accurate BSRD registration and reporting of client’s investments to the BSP.
- Handle snag items and reconciliations of holdings, cash, and BSRD as necessary.
- Monitoring deficient documents from counterparties documents for BSRD application/Local payments from/to counterparties/banks/brokers and other departments.
- Monitoring investments for registration by the BSP
- Coordinating with BSP on snags, special handling, and other inquiries.
- Performing intra-day and end-of-day checking to ensure that all trade instructions have been processed accordingly
- Reviewing systems and processes to improve operational efficiencies.
- Performs earmarking of trades against client’s/counterparties Daily Settlement Line.
- Perform other sundry duties, as required by section executives and officers or operational requirements.
- Ensure completeness and correctness of details of the Certificate of Inward Remittance (CIR) and Application to Purchase FX (ATP), reports to clients, internal counterparts and regulators (i.e. FX reports, FX mapping, FX cash flow, IOS reports)
- Ensure completeness and correctness of details for all FX advices generated prior to releasing the same to clients
- Ensure completeness and correctness of details for all worksheets and vouchers/entries related to clients’ FX deals prior to submission for posting
- Adhere to regulations in the preparation of reports (i.e., accurate reports to BSP, etc..)
- Perform intra-day and end-of-day checking to ensure that all FX instructions have been acted upon accordingly
- Familiarity and adherence to FX regulations (i.e., ensure BSRD is in place for FX orders)
- Coordinate with GM Institutional Sales and GM Operations for discrepancies/changes involving HSS FX bookings
- Coordinate with other HSS sections for concerns/discrepancies involving HSS FX bookings
- Do relief work for colleagues on leave
Providing high quality of service to clients
- Send accurate and timely settlement and BSRD reports to clients.
- Regularly reviewing the customers’ Standing Instructions and behaviours and work with Client Services for value-added service improvements and client solutions to enhance current service offering.
Manages operational risks, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting
- Ensure that only authenticated instructions are accurately processed, proper indemnities are in place prior to processing.
- Ensure call back procedures are followed for relevant settlement and payment transactions prior to approving.
- Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with issues raised by regulators.
- Ensure compliance to market rules and regulations affecting the settlement and registration processes by being updated with circulars or guidelines from various regulators like BSP, PSE, SCCP, BIR, PDTC and other depositories, etc.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Must be a self-starter, organized, goal oriented, and driven
- Must take ownership of key accountabilities and have well-developed problem solving and decision-making skills
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure and challenging situations
- Previous securities services experience an advantage
- Successfully complete all global mandatory training courses and post course assessments (for internal applicants only)
