This includes creation of credit applications for annual reviews, interim reviews, new requests and other reviews. The role requires the ability to undertake all preparation work (excluding “remark” writing) for credit applications using the CARM systems in a timely and accurate manner.

Undertake preparation work for all Pre & Post Approval activities in an accurate and timely manner. This will include:

  • Process on instructions received by the Relationship Manger on core banking tool, for activities like General Maintenance, Facility Limit Loading, Loans/drawdowns, Security checking and collateral maintenance.
  • Process CARM applications involving completion of applications for annual reviews, New Requests, Annual review extensions, Amendments, Reductions and Cancellations.
  • Clear understanding on the different types of collaterals involved in the credit and lending journey. 
  • Understanding on the end to end credit life cycle.
  • Proactive liaison with RM’s, LoB Team and other departments within the Bank.
  • To perform approver and checker’s role in accordance to the assigned level of approval.
  • Ensure that the Quality levels are achieved as per the standards and targets set forth for the process.
  • To identify error for the executives and ensure the items are corrected as per procedures.
  • To assist Team Leader (TL) on validation of external errors and ensuring the feedback forms are acknowledged by the staff. Process Checker will also needs to coordinate and conduct Quality Checking as per process requirement.
  • To assist TL in monitoring volume of items to be completed for ensuring adherence to PLA and prepare team capacity planning while fully utilizing the available resources.
  • Be able to generate, understand and also interpret MI reports for business partners and GSC management.
  • Process Checker can also be accredited as Process Specialist. Who may have the responsibility to conduct classroom/ personal training, preparing training material and hands-on training for new user or conducting refresher classes should there is a need to conduct one. Process Specialist may need to handle escalation case/ call from internal/external customers and assist in resolution of procedural queries.
  • Assist TL to conduct call monitoring and provide coaching if necessary.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective administration of loan disbursements, rollovers, repayments and etc.
  • Examine interest rates/margins quoted for loans drawn down; check on rollover dates; and closely monitor repayment of loan principals and interests; ensure all loans-related fees are collected 
  • Verify that loan transactions, vouchers and payment transfers are within the limits and processed correctly.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports/MI
  • Review of work processes and feedback to improve productivity will be of value-add to the team.
  • To prepare the necessary MI
  • Knowledge on Facility Offer Letter is desirable.
  • Ensure that all work is delivered within agreed timeframes and meets the required high quality standard.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant policies and procedures issued by the Group.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and other stake holders.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with issues raised by external regulators.
  • Need to implement the Group Compliance Policy, as applicable to their role.
  • Need to be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with their role, and to ensure that all actions during their employment with HSBC take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring. Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Minimum Degree in Commerce, Business, Economics or equivalent or Additional Financial qualification would be an advantage.
  • Highly proficient at Excel and Word. Database skills are an advantage. Ability to learn new systems quickly necessary.
  • Excellent English, written and spoken; hard-working; organized; diligent; and above all, a team player.
  • Highly customer oriented and interested in providing top quality customer service

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Credit skills and a detailed understanding of bank credit and risk policy and procedures
  • Good understanding of the Financial Ratios and what impacts them.
