The Opportunity:
- The RFP Writer role is critical to the new business process, playing an instrumental role in the achievement of HSBC Asset Management’s (AM) growth ambitions.
- The RFP Team leads and completes RFPs, RFIs and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) for Institutional and Wholesale clients and consultants globally and encompassing a wide and diverse range of asset classes, investment strategies and funds.
- Works closely with internal stakeholders/subject matter experts to ensure high quality articulation to clients of HSBC AM’s investment philosophy, capabilities, processes, investment vehicles and the firm’s competitive advantages.
- Partners with RFP colleagues in other regions to support cross-border DDQs, RFIs and other client documents.
- This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced RFP skills and knowledge of HSBC’s capabilities, working closely with experienced and senior team colleagues, and to take on expanded responsibilities and projects over time.
What you’ll do:
Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Based in Bangalore but has global and regional support responsibilities in the context of the global RFP function.
- The operating environment is driven by client needs, often involving significant cross-border collaboration with RFP Team colleagues in other regions; and willingness to work flexible hours when needed.
- Client documents such as RFPs, RFIs and DDQs are content- and data-intensive and usually have tight deadlines that are not set by RFP. This requires constant and careful work planning and management, managing the expectations of stakeholders, clear communication, and attention to detail.
- It also often requires problem-solving skills relating to interpretation and data availability, to produce high quality client documents in a limited timeframe.

- Attention to detail and ability to ensure that information is captured in a timely manner
- Ability to be persuasive, pragmatic in approach
- Ability to distil complex and varied data into information; good process analysis and problem solving skills
- Strong written, verbal & presentation (including advanced PowerPoint) communication skills
- Stakeholder management is a critical attribute, the ability to work as a team player is must.
- Proactive, positive attitude and ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Flexible and ability to prioritize workload for self and team
- Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to succeed within a matrix management structure and build and maintain global team relationships
Experience
- Overall experience of 0-2 year preferably in the Asset Management and Capital Markets industry
- Knowledge of financial products & their role in the Asset and wealth management business
- Knowledge of financial markets, macro-economic environment, theory, tools and strategies
- Experience in handling Pre-sales activities
- Proven experience in handling end-to-end completion of RFI, RFPs and Due Diligence activities
- Experience or ability to adopt remote working model
- Proven ability to prioritize workload effectively in line with business priorities
- Willingness to own work and problems and see through to completion and use own initiative to resolve issues
- Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a global organization would be an added advantage
- Experience in using technology to improve business outcomes
Education
- Post Graduation / MBA / or equivalent qualification; CFA, FRM, ESG Certification - (completed or pursuing)
