  • We are currently seeking experienced individuals to join this team in the role of Associate Director, Business Architecture – WCL. The roles will focus on the following initiative:

The Opportunity:

Contract / Document Lifecycle Management

  • Document Lifecycle Management (DLM) describes the end-to-end lifecycle of customer documentation, this includes all documents exchanged with the customer throughout the lifetime of their relationship with HSBC specific to Credit & Lending.
  • Triage, analysis & agreement of requirements for the DLM future state on a MOSCOW basis.
  • Responsibility of the business architecture pertaining to the following capabilities:
  • Document Creation
  • Document Negotiation
  • Document Approval
  • Document Signing
  • Document Data Extraction  
  • Document Storage
  • Agree core scope of the journey and documenting of must have capabilities for RfP process.
  • Standardised policy / appetite for deviation from document standard terms, and design of a Document Control operating model
  • Assessment of either vendor products or in-house alternatives to meet functional user capabilities.
  • Success of the initiative is defined as (i) Improving or removing problem statements (ii) Simplified process to create and maintain templates (i.e. removing variations) (iii) Improving customer time to cash

What you’ll do:

The Business Architect will primarily be responsible for

  • Define future state designs for Wholesale (CMB and GB) in order to execute the vision by aligning strategic objectives to business capabilities, data and processes to deliver value to end users.
  • Providing architectural and subject matter expertise to all feature teams within the portfolio
  • Interpreting and contextualizing business strategy
  • Setting an overarching vision for lending and lending operations
  • Leading the development of specific artefacts such as business capability maps and value streams to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution
  • Leading the synthesis of desired business outcomes and translating into business capabilities to ensure these outcomes can be delivered in the most optimal way
  • Leveraging capability from the appropriate lending team
  • Ensuring end to end integrity of solution designs and alignment with standard architecture patterns such as Platform, Security, data etc.
  • Leveraging agile methodologies and collaborate between technical and business teams to design iterative improvements to the platform and achieve long-term outcomes
  • Architecture decisions and risks within the portfolio
  • Managing the repository of business architecture models, roadmaps, standards and outcome.
  • Evaluating new technologies and making recommendation for new capabilities

  • Primary customers are:
  • WCL functional and delivery teams
  • Other business areas and lines as appropriate
  • Group Functional Teams – e.g. Legal Risk, Group Finance, IT
  • Operational support teams
  • Group & Regional teams

Other stakeholders on projects will include (as demanded by specific project need):

  • Other Transformation functions
  • Regulatory authorities
  • Other service delivery functions
  • Data service providers
  • Software, data and service vendors

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Support the team by quickly familiarising new team members with the team’s purpose and expectations
  • Support Programme leadership in communication of strategic direction across global, regional and country structures
  • Support and encourage constructive cross-country, cross function, and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and taking prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and / or the best interests of the business and its customers.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Credit and Lending experience is essential
  • Some exposure to C&L, operations and/or stakeholders
  • Business Architect experience recommended including
  • Held a number responsibilities associated with Business Architecture and Operating Model design
  • Support or leading of vendor Request For Proposal style programmes of work
  • Transformation experience recommended

  • Background working in cross-functional teams to drive requirements capture
  • Experience in business and process analysis, change initiatives & re-engineering
  • Experience in planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives

Qualifications and Accreditations:

  • Educated to Masters standard is preferred
  • Evidence of self-development across a number of disciplines
  • Industry recognized technical certifications i.e. Change Management, Master Black Belt – Six Sigma.
