Global Markets is part of our HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking division, a markets-led, financing-focused business that provides investment and financial solutions. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Director, Non-Financial Risk - Structuring & Quantitative Investment Solution Asia.

Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will

  • Assist in the design and to help monitor the operating effectiveness of the control framework, escalating control issues as necessary
  • Work closely with support functions to ensure robust controls are in place and act as an additional point of escalation with regards downstream control issues. Influence support functions in their remediation of control gaps
  • Help drive the conduct agenda
  • Act as the gatekeeper thereby ensuring ongoing integrity is maintained and that issues and actions are followed up on a timely basis
  • Challenge and advise on other business changes which may impact key controls for the business
  • Assurance – assist in ensuring the execution of desk/control reviews, thematic reviews and other remediation/assurance work as required
  • Governance Forums – moderate and/or attend if and where required control related governance forums   
  • Escalation Point - act as an additional point of escalation for stakeholders with respect to internal control issues for the region/site
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • A good understanding of the Front to back processes within Global Markets; Effective in the continuously evolving control framework within Global Markets
  • Ability to engage and influence senior business and functional stakeholders; Strong analytical skills required to perform in depth review of risk impact of change in existing business
  • Experience in working with support functions; Understanding of market trend and structure
  • Previous experience working in Global Markets and demonstrable ability to deliver complex projects with multiple stakeholders involved
  • Understanding of electronic/algorithmic trading risks and controls; Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with internal and external clients; Ability to challenge constructively and effect change
