The Opportunity:

• This is a role within Digital Finance visualization – Finance system Operations.  The role holder will support the visualization demand team as a Visualization Analyst for Global Business / Global Functions assigned as part of the role.
• The purpose of the Visualization Analyst is to perform the dashboard development and support in line with the principles and guidelines laid by IT team. This role will be supporting across Global Business / Global Function which will be determined based on the order book prioritization.
• The role holder will be working closely working with Business SMEs, Developers, UAT Team and the end users. The role holder will be experienced in using BI Tools (Qlik Sense / Tableau / Looker), having on the job experience working in large visualization projects. The role holder should have worked in a global bank with a good understanding of different business performance metrics.
• The role holder will be part of the Digital Finance program team and reports functionally to Visualization Lead in the program.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

• Work within the Finance function teams to build dashboards for the Finance and Business
• Create dashboards for Business Performance Metrics which includes Financial and Non-Financial metrics using prescribed BI tools (Qlik Sense / Looker / Tableau).
• Load data from the data sources into Reporting environment using the HSBC IT recommended architecture, development methodology and build the front-end applications.
• Create scalable dashboards incorporating regular feedback and implementing changes (in an agile approach)
• Develop Dashboards / Reports on Enterprise & Cloud Environments.
• Should have exposure to data modelling and be capable of building reporting data models for dashboard reporting.
• Deploy and maintain applications in the Server and Perform user acceptance testing of the applications.
• Document the dashboard development & configuration process and train the end users on using various BI Tools.
• Provide Production Support and Maintenance for Dashboards
• Assist / Train Dashboard SME’s and Citizen developers on Qlik Sense.
• Read and follow the guidelines documented by Corporate Functions – IT Team for Qlik tenants and ensure 100% adherence by self

Leadership & Teamwork 

• Communicate pro-actively with team members, managers, and project managers on issues and risks that may arise during the project life cycle.
• Should be able to participate in a project delivery from inception to end and meet End user’s requirements.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.•      

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Knowledge

• Multiple years of experience within a Business Intelligence.
• 4 - 5 years plus of specific Qlik Technologies and at least 2-3 years within Qlik Sense
• Expert Qlik Sense knowledge with practical commercial experience, ideally of a large-scale implementation.
• Experience with large data sets.
• Strong all-round SQL, business intelligence and data warehousing experience.
• Agile Methodology for development

Others

• Understanding of Finance tools (TM1, Saracen, General Ledgers FTP, HUB, Fusion) and IT processes
• Knowledge of key technical delivery aspects as well as understanding of business context / requirements
• JavaScript, CSS and JSON experience would be desirable.
• Understanding of Big Data tools like Pentaho or any other databases of large scale and ETL process
• Knowledge on Control M scheduling tool is a plus
