We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Chief of Staff, CMB and GBM CRCO.
Reporting functionally and entity to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officers (CRCOs) for CMB and GBM, this is a key leadership position responsible for managing the strategy, coordination, and operational requirements of the Global CMB and GBM Risk a& Compliance function, working across the regional and LoB specific CMB and GBM Risk & Compliance teams as necessary.
 
Acting as a confidante and trusted advisor to both the CMB and GBM CRCOs, the role requires facilitating strategic decisions, mediating, and aligning across senior Global Business (GB) and Global Functions (GF) colleagues, escalating and mitigating risks and issues as they arise. The role will sit within the Risk and Compliance function with delegated responsibility for elements of the CRCOs’ responsibilities.
 
In this role, you will: 
  • Manage the general day-to-day operational requirements, including people strategy and resourcing, financial cost control and planning, governance, strategy, and regional construct/structure.
  • Develop/manage the functions governance, control structures and performance scorecards (KPIs) to ensure project milestones, budgets, resources, and employee engagement aspirations are met, implementing mitigating actions as appropriate.
  • Ensure strong collaboration with Global Business (GB) and Global Functions (GF) to mobilise initiatives requiring cross-functional and cross-region input.
  • Support and assist in implementation of key R&C programs, e.g. Risk2025, BCBS239, IRB model remediation etc conveying and setting strategic priorities for CMB CRCO and GBM CRCO to execute against these objectives.
  • Represent GBM and CMB CRCOs as their delegate in Governance Fora as required and as an active participant in relevant GBM and CMB Risk & Compliance working groups / project teams.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: 
  • Demonstrated business knowledge of CMB & GBM and/or Risk & Compliance
  • Proven ability in functional/business management or in the office of CoS or Chief Operating Officers
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to provide sound counsel to senior leaders of HSBC.
  • Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong Financial and accounting acumen 
The base location for this role can be UK wide (Outside of London) – Hybrid working.
