HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) is a markets-led, financing-focused business that provides investment and financial solutions. Within CIB, Securities Services provides robust and reliable solutions that help clients mitigate risk and enhance their business performance. Working with institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, governments, and multinational corporations, this team covers fund administration, global custody, sub-custody and clearing, and corporate trust and loan agency services. 

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Chief Operating Officer Securities Services, Asia and Middle East.

Role purpose

The COO is responsible for running the SSv business in Asia and MENA in an efficient manner whilst also maintaining control of the cost base. 

They are required to partner with MSS Operations, lead and deliver strategic initiatives for the business, manage the change delivery portfolio for SSv, drive the Ways of Working programme and own the People Experience agenda.

The COO is accountable for the Chief Control Office who work alongside the whole SSv business to maintain a strong control environment, ensuring all risks are understood, monitored and reported to manage within appetite.

A COO that fulfils this purpose will allow SSv to deliver first class service and outcomes to our clients base.

  • A market leading Network Management function that is able to protect that bank from being exposed to risks arising from our agent network whilst also driving cost efficiency

Requirements

Requirements

  • Proven track record of implementing global change programmes
  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in clear language.
  • Deep understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives, especially in the risk environment
  • Proven abilities in managing and coordinating globally dispersed teams
  • COO or Risk and Control management experience within a securities services environment would be an advantage
