We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Communications Director, PG&C and GCOO (CPGO and GCOO).

The role of HSBC’s Communications Businesses and Markets team is to protect and strengthen the bank’s reputation through communications strategies that help advance our customers’ goals and our own.

In this role you will:

•    Act as the strategic communications partner to both the Group Chief People and Governance Officer and the Group Chief Operating Officer. As part of this you will lead executive communications for both of these OpCo emembers, ensuring they are seen and heard in the right way at the right time.
•     Lead high-impact, insight-led internal communications that connect and engage colleagues across PG&C and GCOO. This will include working with chief of staff teams to ensure the communications strategies support the priorities for each of these functional areas. 
•    Be responsible for embedding the global internal communications strategy into PG&C and GCOO, aligning to the principles of driving better Employee Dialogue.
•    Lead and deliver bank-wide strategic communications that are generated from the PG&C and GCOO areas. This will includeproducing strategic content, narratives, stories and assets that help communicate PG&C and GCOO top priorities to the bank.
•    Lead on external communications strategies and opportunities for PG&C and GCOO where this is strategically enhancing. (working alongside Group External Communications where appropriate).
•    Lead a team on six communications professionals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Experience of working with C-Suite leaders in a Director of Comms or Head of Comms capacity.
•    Experience of Experience of building and leading high-performing teams across a range of seniorities.
•    Exceptional business partnering skills, able to advise and influence executives to adopt the most appropriate communications strategies and coach them on delivery.
•    Significant experience in managing global communication strategies and embedding across multiple business areas.
•    Strong team player and network builder across a complex organisation and different geographies.
