Communications for Businesses and Markets (CBAM) is part of our People, Governance and Communications (PG&C) structure. This team designs and implements communications strategies to support HSBC’s business objectives in line with our values, and enhance / protect our reputation among key stakeholders.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Communications Officer, Hong Kong.
Principal Responsibilities
This role works within the Hong Kong Communications team. Responsibilities encompass the full spectrum of communications activities managed by Communications – Businesses and Markets under People, Governance & Communications, including creating engaging content for external and internal communications; events planning and support; maintaining media databases, and contributing to insight analysis and project reports. The role holder will work in close partnership with colleagues in Communications teams to execute plans in-country.
In this role you will
- Contribute to planning and execution of events, both media and employee facing
- Contribute to identifying media opportunities aligned to business and brand priorities for Hong Kong entity, such as press release, by-line article adaptation, social posts, videos and other formats that will resonate with both external and internal audience and ensure alignment to Hong Kong strategy
- Monitor media coverage and industry news; provide timely news summary to stakeholders
- Monitor social media sentiment for adhoc projects
- Ensure the media section of HSBC HK public website and media database are up-to-date
- Ensure team project runway and activity planner are up-to-date
- Performs other related duties to promote our market franchise as assigned
To be successful you will need
- Communications professional preferably within a Multi-National Company or large local corporation
- Strong verbal and written communications skills in English and Chinese
- Experience in event management / employee communications / media relations
- Knowledge of the financial service industry and global marketplace advantageous
- Comfortable grasp of different social media platforms and publishing tools
- Understands the benefits and drawbacks of different communications channels and identifies and selects which to use and when
