The Opportunity:

  • The aOS Tech Lead role is accountable for leading POD team to deliver high quality Mobile APP in technical perspective. Working under the direction of the mobile discipline and contributing to the engineer community.
  • The aOS Tech Lead is responsible for global standard/process adoption, delivery quality guarantee, production release and lead the team to provide expert-level design, development, implementation and maintenance of efficient, reusable, and reliable systems to business according to HSBC standards, regulations and compliance. This is a critical role leading POD team to provide market-leading services.

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute in all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Provide delivery advice with consideration of technical direction for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of HSBC IT systems to business.
  • Develop an expert-level understanding of the appropriate business systems of the Group and their associated IT development requirements.
  • Apply specialist expertise in the development of IT systems with the objective of optimizing operational performance and improving quality whilst increasing cost-effectiveness.
  • Helping with designing, maintaining and improving the CI/CD tools and build pipelines.
  • Manage relationships at a product/service level with the business.
  • Maintain and ensure due observance of HSBC Internal Control Standards, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal / external auditors and external regulators.
  • Ensure awareness of compliance requirements and implementation of Group Compliance Policy.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 years' IT software development experiences.
  • Solid technical depth in mobile app architecture, in depth experience of mobile technologies, e.g. Swift, Kotlin; browser technologies.
  • Familiar with mobile app release, production support and incident management.
  • Familiar with enterprise web application, e.g. build tools like webpack, LESS/SASS , dependency management tool like NPM, unit test like Jasmine and Karma.
  • Familiar with RESTFUL API integration.
  • Experience in CI/CD tools such as Confluence, Jira, Jenkins, Git.
  • Solid knowledge of BDD, Continuous Integration, Selenium, continuous deployment and testing.
  • Experience in DevOps and Agile process.
  • Be good at verbal and written English, with good documentation and task planning/management skill.
  • Experience in working in matrix project teams, self-motivated and ability in working under pressure in matrix team structure.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Knowledge on web/API would be an advantage
  • Knowledge on banking knowledge would be an advantage
