We are currently seeking Director, Tax Risk & Controls to join the Tax team.

The purpose of the role is to enhance the effective management of Tax Risks across the group, by driving improvements within the 1LOD Tax process & control environment and strengthening the 2LOD Risk Steward assurance activities undertaken by the Tax function.   
Primary responsibilities will include strengthening of controls within Tax processes, monitoring key risks & mitigating actions, providing advice, challenge & support to country tax teams and enhancing the approach to review & challenge of material tax risks across the group, including via development of a new global tax assurance program.  
Director, Tax Risk & Controls will report functionally to the Head of Tax – Global Delivery and IWPB.  

In this role, you will be responsible for:

•    Evolving the Group tax risk management strategy, actively driving and strengthening the partnership with Finance NFR & Controls teams and KPMG as the Groups current strategic Tax partner.
•    Designing, maintaining and driving implementation of minimum control standards across 1LOD tax compliance activities, including providing oversight of the processes & controls delivered by KPMG under the tax Strategic Partnership.
•    Designing and driving implementation of Control Monitoring Plans across tax compliance processes, providing tax and tax risk SME input in partnership with Finance NFR and Assurance teams.  
•    Working to enhance the approach to review & challenge of material tax risks across the Group, including development of a new global tax assurance program.
•    Managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Regional / Country Heads of Tax, NFR teams, Tax Risk Steward teams, Internal Audit and external providers (predominantly KPMG).

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Tax qualification or qualified by experience.
•    Understanding of internal Tax risk, tax compliance / business processes and the groups risk & control frameworks.
•    Knowledge of and experience with assurance programs.
•    Experience driving cross functional teams and managing external stakeholders.
•    Excellent written and oral communicate skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience. 
•    Ability to effectively lead, navigate and drive competing teams, geographies and objectives.
•    Experience driving cross functional teams and managing external stakeholders.

The role location will be Birmingham.
