Role Purpose

To lead the Global Banking franchise in Taiwan, managing the business and overseeing growth in HSBC’s relationships with clients. This includes responsibility over corporate and institutional clients doing business with HSBC in Taiwan as well as Debt Capital Markets and Issuer Services product businesses in Taiwan.

Responsibilities and Accountability

  1. Accountability for setting the strategy for the Global Banking business in Taiwan including key initiatives to achieve financial targets whilst managing Risk, Balance Sheet, Liquidity and other considerations.
  2. Responsible for driving the commercial outcomes for the Global Banking business including working across a range of groups including coverage and product bankers to achieve revenue growth, enhanced relationship returns and client wallet share gains.
  3. The role will involve direct client engagement with some of the firms largest and most commercially significant client relationships across corporate and institutional clients; institutional client experience would be a plus
  4. Driving the regional account management strategy for key Multinational relationships based in Taiwan
  5. Responsible for shaping and leading cross line of business collaboration initiatives
  6. Be an effective leader of teams within Global Banking as well as represent the business in broader engagement with both internal and external stakeholders, working in close collaboration with Taiwan country EXCO
  7. As a people leader, the role holder will be responsible for all aspects of people engagement and resource management and will oversee a team of 30 coverage, product and middle office bankers. Key accountabilities will include setting performance standards and overseeing the overall performance management and rewards process as well as developing and implementing appropriate talent management and succession planning strategies.
  8. Overseeing all aspects of customer experience and ensuring HSBC delivers appropriate products and services which meet and exceed customer needs as well as deliver fair outcomes.
  9. Oversee the management and governance of all risks across the business and holding accountability for compliance with local requirements as well as acting as a representative for the business during engagement with regulators.

Information
  1. Proven strategic thinker with a track record in developing and implementing market leading strategies across the sector globally to sustainably increase client wallet share.
  2. Substantive experience of working with global banking clients in Taiwan and of delivering effective client solutions across investment banking, financing, Markets and flow products
  3. General management; gained from working with, and having responsibility for sophisticated business units and large groups of personnel with specialist and easily transferable skills.
  4. Proven leadership skills to provide senior oversight of subordinates and manage multiple teams across different locations / divisions. The jobholder should have the leadership skills to manage a large professionally diverse and specialist executive cadre, many of whom have widespread experience with other trading companies, and manage a range of external relationships that are key to business success (e.g. regulators, auditors).
  5. Ability to interact with all levels of seniority including ‘C suite’ and owner/proprietor client representatives.
  6. Ability to drive change with respects to costs, revenue and service.
  7. Operational Risk & Control Management; gained from working in market, credit & operational risk management functions with significant operations & finance experience.
  8. The jobholder requires innovation and change management skills necessary to adapt to a constantly changing business, control & client servicing environment.
  9. Strong knowledge of HSBC Group, products, geographic and sector capabilities, and a strong network of contacts across all business areas.

  12. Qualification
    • 國內外專科以上學校畢業或具有同等學歷,銀行工作經驗五年以上,並曾擔任銀行總行副經理以上或同等職務,成績優良者。
    • 銀行工作經驗三年以上,並曾擔任銀行總行經理以上或同等職務,成績優良者。
    • 有其他事實足資證明其具備專業知識或經營銀行之能力,可健全有效經營銀行業務。
