We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Finance Business Partner - UK WPB.

The Finance Business Partner, UK WPB role forms part of the Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) Business Finance team within HSBC UK. The primary purpose of the role is to support Consumer Duty and Strategic Projects in the UK. This includes using the new Consumer Duty tooling built in 2024 to evidence fair value and good outcomes, enhancing existing tools to support the delivery of Segment Financial reporting and supporting the objective to become simpler and more agile through delivering process improvements. The scope includes multiple brands including HSBC, first direct and M&S.

In this role, you will:

  • Use and enhance the new Consumer Duty tooling to evidence fair value and good outcomes for customers.
  • Be a key member of the team delivering new Segment Financial (P&L and balances) reporting and insights, to support the UK WPB strategies for Propositions.
  • Advise the CP&M team and the broader Finance community on the financial performance of Propositions. Build strong relationships with the Product and Proposition teams, pro-actively identify growth opportunities and provide appropriate challenge.
  • Identify and deliver process improvements to support the ambition to become simpler and more agile.
  • Finally, the role spans across multiple brands (HSBC, first direct & M&S) as well as multiple distribution channels.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or Part Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with core accounting experience.
  • Demonstrable financial modelling skills (e.g., Budgeting/Forecasting, excel based scenario analysis, pricing analysis).
  • Controls experience (e.g., management of financial risk, month end financial statements).
  • Change Management (e.g., automation, process improvements/ re-engineering).
  • Collaborative, engaging, credible and methodical; being able to bring the numbers, policy and narrative to life (e.g., presenting to a wide range of stakeholders/ senior management).
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders (all levels of seniority).


The base location for this role will be Birmingham and with a hybrid working pattern.
