Your career opportunity
The HCIB Regulatory Affairs AVP will be part of a small high-performing team which has a broad remit and responsibilities, which include and are not limited to, identification and oversight of new or changes to existing material regulatory compliance developments for HCIB and supporting the Europe region and Group on the regulatory change operating model, as well as supporting HCIB regulatory engagements and also the oversight of whistleblowing arrangements and of regulatory compliance policies. 

What you’ll do
    • Provide horizon scanning and monitoring for proposed, new or changes to existing regulatory developments (which fall within the responsibility of Regulatory Compliance), identify and engage with relevant 2LoD and 1LoD stakeholders and keep them informed of material regualtory developments through regular communications. 
    • Either directly, or working with relevant stakeholders, ensure that a high level analysis is completed for material regulatory developments that impact HCIB. Support detailed analysis where possible.
    • Work with the wider Regulatory Compliance function to provide advice and oversight of 1LoD regulatory change implementation, escalate where necessary and report on completion. Support on implementation projects where possible. 
    • Collaborate with Compliance teams across Europe to monitor, share insights, and ensure regional consistency in regulatory developments and engagement.
    • Produce high-quality reports, analysis, and internal guidance for senior stakeholders and governance forums on the status and trends in regulatory developments and interactions.
    • Conduct horizon scanning to identify relevant regulatory developments and ensure timely communication and impact analysis across appropriate business lines.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Significant experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management at HSBC and senior external contacts.
    • Experience of interacting with regulators.
    • Experience of interacting with Senior Management on regulatory topics.
    • Broad knowledge of financial services regulation.
    • Experience of interacting with regulators would be a plus.
    • Experience working at a regulator would be an advantage.
    • Broad knowledge of regulatory compliance risks, and understanding of these in the context of managing regulatory relationships.
    • Knowledge of the HSBC Group structure, including Corporate & Institutional Banking (HCIB) and the HCIB/Europe region structure.
    • Ability to adapt to fast paced environment and willingness to be flexible on assignments including both routine and ad-hoc tasks.

What we offer
The pay range for this role is 12975 PLN - 18500 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
