Regulation Management is a combined pool of functions that include Horizon Scanning Regulatory Mapping and Regulatory Reporting verticals covering the Ecosystem of handling the Regulatory Obligations of HSBC across global regulators. An AVP (GCB5) would be acting as a subject matter expert (SME) and lead a team (Krakow and Mexico) contributing to manage service delivery for the Regulation Management Ecosystem (listed above). The incumbent will mainly focus on Reporting and Oversight activities of wider Ecosystem of Regulation Management, for example, to make sure all processes under Regulation Management have a consistent approach in managing the support services (MI Reporting, Data Analysis, Technical Support etc.) that we provide to our global users. The role requires strong experience in regulations, risk and compliance knowledge for Banks and Financial institutions. processes and applications expertise, control focus, end to end understanding of Regulation Cycle. High-quality engagement across senior levels to manage communications about regulatory changes, process change, risks, and controls etc.
The role holder will / is expected to
• Demonstrated team player qualities and proven track record of ability to manage diverse/multi-culture work environments with strong organization, time management and prioritization demand. Relationship management within the context of Regulatory Compliance and Regulation Management.
• Excellent communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills, combined with strong courageous integrity to challenge, ask the right questions, be persistent, give and receive feedback positively, collaborate effectively within teams, outside teams and with front office.
• Expertise in working on various systems and applications, with proficiency in MS Excel/Access/Word/Ppt.
• A highly motivated and dynamic self-starter, working collaboratively within teams, delivering on time, Project management & documentation skills.
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, ability to think laterally, Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and High level of professional and personal integrity.
• Experience in managing Banking Compliance, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance or Compliance Assurance/Audit.
What you’ll do
• Support in implementing measures to contain the compliance risk across the business area, by acting as an SME and ensuring adequate training and guidance is provided to team members, fostering a compliance culture.
• Ensure service delivery of processes as per the standards and Performance levels defined. Operating with high degree of governance. Manage change and communications effectively.
• You will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that operational risks are managed in accordance with the Group Standards Manual, Risk FIM’s, & relevant guidelines & standards. Continuously reassessing risks associated inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, and the impact of new technology (AI driven automations).
• Direct stakeholders are the in-country senior management, Regulatory Compliance, Risk teams, Transformation, IT and Lines of Business teams.
