Private Banking United Kingdom (PBUK) team is dedicated to implementing the PBUK strategy to be the leading international Private Bank for business owners and their families, leveraging Group capabilities to enable core HSBC clients and the Next Gen clients to grow, manage and preserve their wealth, thus playing a key role in the Group’s universal banking model.
CSEM Manager will support Client Selection and Exit Management’s four-stage process requiring review of prospective and existing customer relationships and existing and ongoing transactions, potentially outside of HSBC’s risk appetite. CSEM Manager will be responsible for managing Financial Crime Risk and Risk Appetite triggers from the point of referral, through build-the-case and decisioning until execution stage. The role also includes close collaboration with key PBUK individuals and teams across the 1st and 2nd line of defence to ensure decisions are effectively and completely undertaken in a comprehensive, timely and fair manner for our customers.
What you’ll do
- Execute the CSEM process efficiently using the automated tool, and produce MI for management reporting.
- Provide RRCSC/DDC secretariat support, including chairing meetings where required and producing accurate minutes.
- Engage senior stakeholders to ensure DDC/RRCSC submissions are complete, clear, and decision-ready.
- Track committee decisions and drive timely completion of follow-up actions.
- Manage the team inbox daily, prioritising requests and meeting stated deadlines and process SLAs.
- Coordinate regional/country execution to ensure customers outside financial crime risk appetite are exited and residual risk is removed.
- Support ongoing enhancement of UCM-CS and ensure reporting/compliance aligns with relevant Global policies (e.g., GPB RRCSC).
- Act as an SME: support policy change impact assessment, deliver training, perform CSEM quality control/remediation, and respond to Audit/FCRA/Regulator data requests.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- 6+ years’ experience in banking/financial services, compliance/risk management, or KYC.
- University degree in a relevant discipline.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Strong understanding of client lifecycle, CDD, and risk concepts.
- Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and deliver outcomes through clear communication and planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills; able to evaluate information from multiple sources and apply sound judgement.
- Resilient under pressure, able to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Proficient in MI preparation (including CSEM reporting) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); collaborative across the Group.

The pay range for this role is 12975 PLN - 15975 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
