Global Defense Engineering is comprised of several inter-joined teams: Technical Directors Office (TDO), Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Global Defence Governance & Delivery (GDD). Together, the function enables an adaptive and constantly evolving capacity to address risks borne through an ever-shifting threat landscape. The function serves as an engine for innovation and problem solving with partner teams across the Firm who share a common imperative to be the best for our customers and drive the Global HSBC Purpose of “Opening up a world of opportunity"
What you’ll do
Responsibilities:
• Measures benefits over the short, medium and long term. Develops technical strategies to support the growth of the business, allowing for uncertainties and anticipating long term likely outcomes and implications.• Recognizes, values and makes the most of differences in people and cultures to build a sustainable future.• Keeps up to date with best practice and industry trends, applying it to drive personal performance.• Demonstrates and applies excellent business domain knowledge.• Supports a working environment in which innovation is encouraged and embedded into working practices.• Support regulatory and legislative compliance• Risk management and reduction in line with business risk appetite
Required skills:
• Practices the art of simplification.• Ability to listen and understand others challenges and drive solutions.• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships with a global team.• Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to communicate technical topics to diverse audiences.• Ability to learn quickly through hands on experience.• Ability to document bugs, proposed fixes, and operational instructions.• Experience defining and refining operational procedures, workflows, and processes to support the team in consistent, quality execution of monitoring and detection.• An understanding of business needs and commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service to the business.• Self-motivated and possessing of a high sense of urgency and personal integrity.
