Your career opportunity 
Join our Payments & Securities Screening team in Kraków and help protect HSBC and our customers by ensuring cross-border payments and securities-related transactions comply with sanctions and embargo requirements. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, making well-judged decisions under tight SLAs, while building a strong audit trail and partnering closely with colleagues and stakeholders to resolve alerts efficiently and accurately.

What you’ll do
    • Screen cross-border payments, securities-related transactions, manual payments and customer/name records using the designated screening tool.
    • Review and investigate system-generated alerts in line with global sanctions policy.
    • Determine whether alerts are false positives or potential/true matches and take appropriate action.
    • Use internal and external sources (e.g., customer databases such as World-Check One and reliable internet sources) to support investigations.
    • Document investigation outcomes clearly to maintain a robust audit trail and support QA reviews.
    • Escalate cases to the next level where required, ensuring timely and accurate hand-offs.
    • Deliver work within defined deadlines/SLAs, meeting productivity and quality targets with minimal rework.
    • Maintain strong teamwork and communication with internal partners (including offshore teams) to resolve open issues.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
    • Understanding of payment systems and transaction processing, with knowledge of sanctions screening principles.
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with sound judgement for quick decision-making.
    • Ability to work under time pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines/SLAs.
    • Strong work organisation skills and ability to learn quickly.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a customer/service-oriented mindset.
    • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
    • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team and support colleagues when needed.
    • Fluent English (German is an advantage); banking/finance/accounting experience is an asset.

What we offer
The pay range for this role is 5142 PLN – 7000 PLN (monthly, gross).

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
