You will be joining the team that is charged with ensuring that the deployment of Software as a Service Third Party software is done safely, at a pace that meets the needs of our customers.
The SaaS Governance Analyst is central to ensuring HSBC’s growing use of Software as a Service/Third Party tools meets the bank’s controls and governance requirements. The role will present an exciting set of challenges around the consumption of SaaS/Third Party products within a global, highly regulated financial service environment. It will be focused in examining internal HSBC governance procedures in order to streamline operating processes and working closely with SaaS/Third Party IT Service Owners to drive the appropriate selection, assessment, onboarding, and best practice for the ongoing management of Software as a Service/ Third Party solutions at scale across HSBC’s Global Businesses and Global Functions.
What you’ll do
- Support the Team in driving appropriate adoption of SaaS solutions in HSBC and ensuring the Cloud technology controls relevant to SaaS/Third Party governance and security are met.
- Work closely with the IT Service Owners to understand their security and governance positions and how they meet HSBC regulations for SaaS/Third Party.
- Support IT Service Owners throughout the SaaS/Third Party delivery lifecycle, providing consultancy as needed and acting as a point of escalation for issue and conflict resolution.
- Assist with contract and licencing management and ensure that the valid contracts for SaaS/Third Party are in place.
- Reinforce SaaS/Third Party programme governance within the Cloud Services team, evolving analysis as appropriate with information from Third Party Management and other relevant Security or Risk Management policies.
- Partner to maintain the SaaS/Third Party inventory and pipeline and make regular updates in keeping with strategic changes and SaaS/Third Party adoption progress.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Broad understanding of Software as a Service models, and awareness of public Cloud service providers (e.g. MSAzure, AWS and GCP)
- Awareness of data security and regulatory requirements within financial services
- Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Good teamwork skills - experience in dealing with multiple support groups that contribute to creating a service.
- Operational effectiveness - delivers solutions that align to approved design patterns and security, risk and regulatory standards.
- A track record of constantly looking for ways to do things better and an excellent understanding of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
- Extensive experience in business analysis or consulting type roles working on programmes involving enterprise adoption of Cloud.
