Global Finance Operations Centre (GFOC) provides a variety of financial support services to business partners over the HSBC Group. As part of the financial reporting team, we are primarily responsible for consolidation, analytical reviews, leading up to the preparation of the regional financial statements.
The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Securities and Exchange Commission (‘SEC’) Reporting process for HCIB at GFOC. The role will be a key support to the Head of Financial Reporting & Head of Reporting ops, HCIB in managing the delivery as well as various transformation projects and ensuring the strong control framework for HCIB Financial reporting team. The process covers the entire ambit of Analytical Reviews, Group Submissions and also managing the WDESK production for the Interim(6K)/Annual Report(10K).
What you’ll do
- Ensure HCIB complies with the SEC reporting requirements and file the relevant SEC forms. Ensure Monthly and quarterly reporting are completed as per agreed timelines and with right quality.
- Review of key FR deliverables to ensure appropriate inputs and processes are in place. Review of accounting and reporting issues and their impact to processes, controls.
- Ensure robust analytical reviews and controls on the Financial Reporting outputs.
- Own the HCIB Reporting issues and drive the closure with Financial Accounting, Product Control, Risk and Group FR teams. Contribute to the sign-off meetings with Senior stakeholders including regional FC and CFO.
- Dive to assess impact of structural and accounting changes impacting SEC disclosures and incorporate same into FR Delivery. SEC disclosure requirement checklist is up to date and lead changes for any new requirements
- Support the Reporting leads in the various Transformation projects, ensuring milestones are delivered. Prepare papers and proposals for review with HCIB Financial Controller.
- Interface for regional stakeholders and HCIB sites on queries and alignment of issues impacting HCIB's results and external documents. People leadership responsibilities- drive the HSBC work culture and values, build talent.
- Interface with external, internal auditors and data assurance (BRCM), manage PCAOB review. Ensure a robust control environment through controls and design efficacy of CMPs. Continuous review and enhancing controls to meet SOX 404
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Finance Qualification with 10-15 years of work experience. Financial Reporting work experience under SEC/IFRS/GAAPs.
- Change management, analytical Reviews experience. Working experience on Wdesk and Saracen would be an added advantage
- Able to connect dots and deal with ambiguity and partial inputs. Able to take multiple inputs into consideration before pronouncing an opinion. Able to review Disclosures and understand their linkage to each other
- Have a strong Risk and control mindset
- Ability to interpret IFRS statutes/ policy guidance to practical application. Ability to understand and implement SEC requirements. Ability to assess impact of accounting issues / Legal structure changes/ Acquisitions and Disposals/ System changes on the FR processes of consolidation
What we offer:
The pay range for this role is 20 133 PLN- 30 191 PLN (monthly, gross). Additional car allowance in the amount of 4620 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
