Role Purpose:

FCS builds and operates highly sophisticated real time decision engines in credit decisions, fraud prevention and collections. The systems bridge analytic strategies with operational outcome and customer experience. The velocity of change in data consumption, model building, customer and risk behavior all require this to be a very dynamic journey that bridges day to day run activity with ongoing transformation.

The role requires an experienced business technologist who can direct ongoing Run-the-Bank activities, lead lifecycle Product Management, and drive Transformation across multiple VSIPs. The position is uniquely impactful as it involves innovation and execution. The ideal candidate would have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong financial services background (to operate in a highly regulated environment), technology strategy and execution experience.  

This role sits in the International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) business.

Principal Accountabilities:  

Decision Systems Run the Bank (RTB) and Production Management

  • Responsible for one of the world’s largest Credit Decision management ecosystems that directly impacts the Bank’s retail growth and capital management agenda monitoring the financial health of retail banking customers as well as customer lending, authorizations, line and collections management decisions. 
  • Implementation of over 2,000 strategy, model and data access changes across IWPB markets supporting the growth agenda.
  • 300 WPB Credit Decision strategies & models that execute lending, ongoing customer management, and collections decisions, for all IWPB products and markets. 
  • 40 external data access points that acquire bureau, open banking and non-bureau data for decision management.
  • Design and management of a high-performance data aggregation and summarization ecosystem that provisions derived data attributes for customer decisions.

Product Strategy

  • Accountable for shaping and executing the FCS global technology and data strategy, future state architecture and implementation roadmap, while ensuring alignment with the bank's overall objectives.  
  • Collaborate with business and technology leaders to assess the need for change, conduct build/buy assessment, analyze cost/benefit, facilitate alignment with global and market stakeholders and drive execution planning.  
  • Align business objectives and technology capabilities and develop/maintain the Future State Architecture (FSA) for FCS functions. 
  • Outline the multi-year change agenda to ensure optimal performance and currency of the technology landscape, including market assessments and build/buy decisions.
  • Optimize CTB/RTB and resource utilization by driving consumption and convergence of FCS solutions.
  • Vendors management for FCS solutions providers, including contract, licensing, product roadmaps, risk and support management.
  • Ensure digital, data, integration and transactional ecosystem is optimized to leverage the emerging AI/ML/GenAI capabilities.
  • Responsible for FCS strategic vendor relationships.  

VSIP Management & Transformation

  • Direct oversight of the Fraud, Credit and Collections portfolio of initiatives across the three VSIPs (Fraud, Credit and Collections), with primary accountability for delivering the business and technology outcomes.  
  • VSIP planning, PI Planning, and fiscal management for multimillion annual technology and business investments. 
  • Concurrent execution of multiple global/scale initiatives to implement FCS FSA
  • Manage the Agile lifecycle with capability & feature design, planning and implementation. 
  • Working closely with WPB heads of Credit, Fraud and Collections Technology and Architecture to design and develop a scalable transaction and data management architecture that supports the WPB objectives.
  • Ensure optimal technology performance of FCS systems processing over multibillion customer transactions.

Leadership & Teamwork

  •  Build and provide strategic direction to a global FCS business and technology community across Fraud, Credit functions and key partner areas (e.g., IT, Risk, Product, etc.)
  • Lead multiple and disparate teams execute concurrent flagship transformation programs across Credit, Fraud and Collections.
  • Lead a team of functionally specialized talented program/project managers, business analysts, and technology leaders through agile implementation of the strategic objectives, ownership of large-scale change as well as RTB release management.

  • In-depth understanding of Technology, Architecture, and implementation of global scale Transformation programs
  • Outstanding relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills with experience of positive, challenging interactions with senior executives across multiple functions.  
  • Ability to distil complex and varied information into useful, insightful, and concise recommendations.  
  •  Ability to identify, assess and communicate opportunities, risks and issues in complex, fast paced environments.  
  • Clear understanding of the evolving business and technology market trends that impact the credit and fraud environments for the customers and the organization.
  • Ability to constructively challenge status quo, articulate business value and drive innovation.
  • Proven track record in leading technology and business change, particularly in sizeable and dynamic organization environment.
  • Ability to seek out and improve on best practice and capability.
  • Strong business acumen, organizational, strategic planning skills
  • Strong leadership, influencing and communication skills with the ability to navigate across senior stakeholders and business partners. 
  • Experience in retail banking is advantageous
  • Degree graduate in business or related discipline with proven and progressive analytical, planning and project management experience in a business or project management function or equivalent.
