We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Alternatives,Singapore.

Principal Responsibilities

The areas of responsibility include the following and are aimed at improving outcomes for our customers and significantly contribute to the successful delivery of differentiated Alternative Investment solutions. 

In this role you will

  • Provide and deliver a market leading Alternatives investments proposition and offering. Additionally, to continuously evolve and develop Alternatives products capabilities together with HSBC Alternatives and external partners
  • Overall drive and lead product innovation, development and management of Alternatives products, such as private markets solutions, hedge funds, impact products etc
  • Provide high quality product development and management standards driven by innovation, client centricity and customer demand and providing first class risk management and operational processes
  • Ensure offering is fit for purpose and differentiated for our target client segments and the offering is commercially viable and can be efficiently and effectively served by our distribution and coverage model
  • Achieve our business plans across customer segments and markets in Singapore and work in close partnership with the Investment Counsellors and Markets Heads to deliver the Alternatives growth targets in a safe and sustainable way in Singapore
  • Devise, sponsor and lead respective and supportive thought leadership, product development, customer experience, marketing, communications, training and risk/regulatory requirements for Alternatives products
  • Lead the Alternative Investments team in Singapore and be a key advocate for Alternative Investments within IWPB
  • Work with the UHNW teams to establish and enrich a differentiated offering for this client segment and represent and promote HSBC Alternative Investment capabilities at client events, with media and public
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Collaborative nature and demonstrated ability to work successfully in a matrixed and fast-paced environment
  • Track record of owning P&L, business outcomes and manage complex initiatives
  • Strategic and let’s get it done mind set coupled with results orientation and strive for the right customer outcomes
  • Ability to manage conflict and prioritise based on customer, market and shareholders’ benefits
  • Extensive experience in private markets, hedge funds and/or other alternatives investment management domains, acquired in private banking, wealth, asset management or investment banking environment
  • Advanced understanding of alternatives investing in client portfolio context and deep knowledge and understanding of the Alternatives industry across product and asset classes

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws, this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis, if appointed to the role.
