Head of Finance, Global MSS Sales

The candidate will be responsible for driving the link between Finance, Strategy and the MSS Sales force. The Sales Head of Finance, reporting directly into the MSS CFO, is responsible for supporting delivery of the HSBC strategy with specific focus on Sales Targets, Market Share and Coalition rankings. They must have a dynamic working relationship with the Sales front office to achieve this. Business partnering is required at all levels, from Global/Regional Sales Heads and COOs through to individual Salespeople. 

The role has a high level of exposure partnering with the Global Corporate and Institutional Sales Excos and an opportunity to work in a dynamic, challenging sales and trading environment.

In this role you will:

 

• Act as a trusted Head of Finance and advisor in respect of the performance of MSS Sales globally through the timely provision of insightful analysis and advice to improve the performance of the business across Sales revenue, costs, capital and FTEs.
• Enhance the Sales MI capability by leveraging the full functionality of Omnia and MI360, and drive the integration of the systems.
• Develop and deliver the Multi Jurisdiction project to disclose MSS client revenues externally to recognise the value of our franchise. • Drive the direction and focus of collaboration across the Group, and work closely with Markets Front Office and CMB and IWPB management on Synergies initiatives, and tracking performance against growth targets
• Be responsible for supporting the Sales Teams by providing extensive Sales and Client MI detailing revenues, costs, metrics and key insights, across a number of dimensions..
• Build working relationships with MSS Asset Class CFOs and finance management across MSS and CIB, providing finance insight and expertise.

• Coordinate planning and forecasting across the global Sales teams, along with challenging the business to deliver medium and long term performance targets.

 

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

•    Extensive MSS product experience essential, specifically Markets Sales related, and have a thorough understanding of the Sales & Trading nuances of the reported P&L.
•    Strategic mindset approach to process: Leading, executing, designing, analysing data.
•    Specific knowledge of MSS Primary Trading & Client Reporting systems, particularly CPMI/MI360. •    Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority
•    Must possesses ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualifications. Qualified Corporate Treasurer (ACT) also preferable.
•    Finance experience in a global business area.
•    Analytical and commercial - Building out strategic commentary storytelling with commercial impact, and forward looking.
•    Demonstrable experience with motivating, engaging and managing a team.
