Technology teams in the UK work closely with our global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. They also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank. Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps Engineers, IT Architects, Front and Back End Developers, Infrastructure specialists, Cyber experts, as well as Project and Programme managers.

In this exciting new role you will report to the Global Technology Delivery Lead for GPS and will be accountable for the Technology delivery of the Client Implementation Sub-Value Stream.  This includes complex, large scale change across the Sub-Value Stream as well as changes to support other governed and non-Governed programmes that require Technology effort from Client Implementations.   The Payments Services Technology team, based across 10 countries, are responsible for the IT systems that facilitate the GPS Client onboarding and implementation as well as the payments processing, sanctions screening, clearing and settling of all payments via SWIFT and in-country Domestic Payment schemes.      Based in London the candidate will be accountable for expanding the team to be able to provide capability to manage more deliveries as the book of work in 2024 expands.  There are historically and forward looking, a large number of complex delivery programmes that need to be managed as the GPS portfolio expands.

In this role you will:

•    Own annual planning for complex programmes and tracking of financial forecasts, resource planning.
•    Develop and manage high a performing team to meet present and future needs.
•    Navigate and deliver  complex, multi-year, multi--asset programmes in a matrix managed, complex environment.
•    Provide and promote strong project and programme governance, in a strong, practical implementation that balances the needs of Stakeholders, internal Governance and Delivery.
•    Collaborate with engineering and support leads to provide a clear roadmap on deliveries, within a Scaled Agile framework.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Strong technology experience and significant leadership experience managing both change and run functions in large technology organizations. 
•    Experience of running large scale complex technology programmes as well as a definition and strategy in order to solve the problem statement.
•    Understanding the difference between programme management, project management and PMO, with clear demonstrated experience of how these different disciplines are leveraged by a Programme director.
•    Experience of defining, building and managing teams including project / programme managers, PMO, test engineers, environment engineers and vendor resources across multiple locations and geographies in matrix model.
•    Solid understanding of global technology trends especially in the Client Implementation domain.
