We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Merchant Growth, PayMe.
Role Purpose
Drive merchant business growth in order to accelerate the build of the P2M business for PayMe, and to ensure a comprehensive merchant outlet coverage to drive customer transaction and engagement. These actions are the fundamental building blocks to grow P2M revenue in order for PayMe to deliver its financial targets in the coming years.
Principal Accountabilities
Impact on the Business
- Develop and execute a comprehensive merchant business strategy to drive revenue growth and market share
- Grow PayMe’s merchant acquiring network to increase transaction touchpoints and deliver revenue & market share growth
- Formulate and execute interchange pricing optimization strategy and identify ways to reduce acquirer expense to deliver PBT growth
- Deepen partnership with key merchants to establish co-funding and customer acquisition collaboration
- Partnering with GPS and CMB stakeholders to deliver franchise-level solutions to selected merchant clients
- Execute and own the merchant target operating model, which articulates the future roadmap for PayMe acquiring
Customers / Stakeholders
- Manage relationship with merchant acquirers, many of whom are HSBC corporate clients, to drive quality merchant growth i.e. high activation rate, and to meet revenue target
- Deepen partnership with key merchants, many of whom are important GPS clients, to deliver volume share growth
- Closely partner with GPS, CMB, and HASE to deliver franchise level solution to key merchant partners
- Work closely with internal PayMe stakeholders including Product, Operations, and Control team to optimize business performance
Leadership & Teamwork
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team including partnership leads and merchant relationship managers, to execute merchant growth initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of merchant acquiring services.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, resilience and influencing skills up to board-level executives, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels; imperative to navigate local and global stakeholders to achieve the required outcomes as defined by those stakeholders.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the curve and capitalize on market opportunities.
- Execute and finetune the merchant service model to drive operational efficiency and good service delivery
- Monitor and analyse merchant performance metrics and CLCM performance to drive P2M volume share and improve merchant support and retention.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- Extensive years of experience in merchant acquiring and financial services.
- Proven track record of driving business growth and managing merchant acquirers.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to merchant partnership.
