The REMS technology team provides, manages and maintains, global shared messaging services, market data services and feeds for all areas of the Markets and Securities Services (MSS) business within HSBC. Covering both internal and external communications, these services are core to the day to day operation of all areas of MSS globally, supporting many business critical systems 24x7
In this role you will:
· The candidate will join a team of Infrastructure messaging engineers who are responsible for the detailed design, installation, maintenance and support of enterprise messaging environments within MSS technology.
· Where we have on premise services we are accelerating our adoption of automated infrastructure delivery techniques. We are improving our observability tooling. We are also on a journey to migrate services, where sensible, to cloud.
· This role is required to enhance our automation and tooling capabilities around build, deploy and observability. Also, more broadly, to lead on and uplift the capabilities of individuals across the team on these techniques.
· Messaging infrastructures we support include Solace / IBM MQ / LSEG Market Data Real Time Distributed Systems. As well as external connectivity to third parties. Primarily running on Linux Platforms
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
· Understanding of enterprise messaging platforms and or Market data distribution systems.
· Web development skills (Django or React) / Dashboard / Front end development (Grafana / Qliksense)
· Strong Knowledge of Linux Platforms
· Strong knowledge and experience of writing Ansible code
· Strong knowledge and experience of version control using Git
· Strong knowledge and experience of containerization and Kubernetes (preferably CKAD/CKA)
· Proficiency in scripting in Python or Bash
· Experience of Hashicorp Vault
· Experience of Maven/Nexus
· Understanding of CI/CD pipeline principles
This role is based in Sheffield and offers hybrid working.
