The Opportunity

This role forms an integral part of the overall sales support coverage model for the Institutional business channel, serving the institutional clients and the sales teams. One of our major clients within the institutional business remains global consultants and the role holder would be closely working with the Global Consultant Relations team in the firm, spread across the globe, covering all markets. Based in Bangalore, the role will encompass responsibility of end-to-end client relationship management, including client prospecting, client onboarding as well as ongoing client servicing. The main aim is to maximize HSBC AM’s effectiveness in managing our client relationships and contribute in asset growth and retention. The role shall require a client centric approach to business interactions as well as in-depth knowledge of HSBC AM’s solutions and strategies and the ability to assess product positioning to meet Client needs

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and ownership of Consultant Relations & Service support, required for the Institutional marketplace, working closely investment consultants to promote AM’s investment capabilities.
  • Act as a central point of contact for regional Consultant teams and gather information to support the Global Consultant function internally.
  • Support the Global Consultant Relations function in putting together material for a range of forums that the team manages as well as takes part in Global Consultant calls, materials for senior management for use in ExCo as well as material for our internal teams to support wider initiatives and projects.
  • The role holder will play a key role in production and distribution of consultant reports and review meeting materials to support Institutional client management processes
  • Understand, map client requirements, work with internal teams to deliver appropriate client experience 
  • Provide period reporting on consultant engagement
  • Working with Product, RFP and Client Propositions to deliver approved materials for external distribution i.e. pitch presentations, RFP/RFI, investment marketing collateral.
  • Work with Product and Investments on positioning of AM products
  • Build strong internal relationships Consultants, Client Propositions, Client Service, Product, Investments
  • Demonstrate and retain a deep knowledge of asset classes, investment markets and the HSBC product set to ensure appropriate positioning of our products and services to consultants and hence, by extension, our clients.
  • Working with the global heads of Consultant Relationships, continually assess the service and support function to improve efficiency
  • Said individual will play an active role in executing processes and suggesting improvements and enhancements to existing ones
  • Work with Product and Investments on positioning of AM products

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in this role?

  • Analytical & Critical reasoning Skills - proven interpretation and pre-emptive evaluation of information
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure that information is captured in a timely manner
  • Ability to distil complex and varied data into information; good process analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral, written, verbal & presentation (including advanced PowerPoint) communication skills
  • Stakeholder management is a critical attribute, the ability to work as a team player is must.
  • Proactive, positive attitude and ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Flexible and ability to prioritize workload for self and team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to succeed within a matrix management structure and build and maintain global team relationships
  • Qualification - Post Graduation / MBA / similar qualification from a reputed institute

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Overall experience of 4 years or above preferably in the Asset Management and Capital Markets industry
  • Knowledge of financial markets, macro-economic environment, theory, trends, tools and strategies
  • Knowledge and awareness of investment funds and mandates, investment products, markets and business
  • Experience in Client Relationship Management, Client Servicing and Sales Support for Institutional Clients
  • Experience in supporting Institutional Sales team and handling CRM tools in maintaining client relationship data
  • Experience in handling Institutional client service requests – regular and ad-hoc
  • Advanced level of MS Office
  • Proven ability to prioritize workload effectively in line with business priorities
  • Willingness to own work and problems and see through to completion and use own initiative to resolve issues
  • Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a global organization would be an added advantage
  • Experience in using technology to improve business outcomes
