The Decision Modelling team build models to help make better, faster and accurate credit decisions. Credit Risk Models are used in taking decisions throughout the customer lifecycle such as: Credit Accept/Reject Decision, Customer Verification, Initial Line Assignment, Credit Line Management, Fraud Detection and in Collections. Some examples of the models built by the team are mentioned below.

• Originations/Acquisition Models
• Account Behavior Models
• Transaction based Scorecards and Early Account Management Models
• Models for Fraud Detection
• Collection, Recovery, Payment Projection Models
• Income Estimation Models

The team manages the entire lifecycle of Modeling including data creation, model development, model remediation actions, seeking relevant approval. The team ensures compliance to all applicable model governance and control standards.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and Manage Decision Modelling projects for HBAP Region.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert in Model Development domain independently leading projects and working directly with business to deliver high quality output.
• Support Decision Systems team in Implementation of the Decision Models. Assess that the Models are correctly implemented by doing appropriate UAT of the models.
• This role in an Individual contributor role that requires strong functional contribution in the decision modeling space.
• This will also involve guiding and helping other junior analysts on Model Development Projects
• Ensure that the models are developed adhering to all internal governance process.
• Identify ideas to bring in more efficiency and work on execution of those ideas.
• Responsible for entire Modeling life-cycle including Data Preparation and Reconciliation, Model Design, Model Development, Model Documentation and presenting results to business and getting approvals from requisite committees.
• Ensure timely closure of all IMR findings and make the process more robust.
• Monitoring and review of all projects with stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time and with good quality.
• Work with customers/functions on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
• Provide support in recruitment, on-boarding, training, coaching and developing talent.
• Work on model efficiency including incorporation of scum based approach for project management.
• Ensure adherence with all the applicable compliance policies (Data security policy, AML, operational risk, Functional manual, Group Compliance Manual, Audit recommendations, Internal Control requirements, regulatory guidelines etc.) and business standards of Organization as applicable. Take timely action on Audit comments and be able to demonstrate compliance with Internal controls

What you will need to succeed in the role:

• 4-year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from reputed University with concentration on marketing, finance, economics or other quantitative field such as statistics or engineering. 
• Strong analytical skills with 9+ years of proven analytics experience with majority of the prior experience preferred in Risk Analytics area. 
• Prior Experience in Credit Risk Modeling and Model Management is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Model Development concepts 
• Ability to convince senior management of analysis being presented with clear articulation of results being presented. 
• Ability to comprehend intricate and diverse range of business problems and analyze them with limited or complex data and provide a feasible solution framework.
• Deep Knowledge of SAS, SQL and other equivalent analytical tools. Python knowledge is preferred. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to develop and effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and drive for success.
