The Opportunity:
- Reporting the financial results of entity to HBME region and other regulatory bodies.
What you’ll do:
- Managing the sign off process, BS reconciliation/substantiation and monthly ARCC certificate.
- Oversight of Balance sheet, escalation, rectification of all Imbalance, unposted or undefined transactions.
- Oversight of Finance operations processes to ensure banking transactions are efficient and optimally safe guarded from any operational weaknesses.
- Responsible for implementation of all Governance programs with regards to change controls in Nostros, Accruals/ Fixed Assets and Cadency process.
- Responsible for maintaining controls over Fusion interface and cross system substantiation.
- Should be a subject matter expert in the area of financial control & accounting and have an end-to-end knowledge.
- Prior experience of legal entity Reporting (IFRS/FINREP/GSIB/Regulatory Reporting and Manual return) will be an added advantage.
- Drive governance on exceptions. Seek inputs from various stakeholders.
- Lead new projects/assignments/process: Identify, Drive, Build & operate it as BAU.
- Connect with other departments for end to end and satisfactory service delivery.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work in an efficient manner.
- To maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
Risks & Controls
- Maintain defined operations Risk framework.
- Adherence to Group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance requirements. This also includes and is not limited to Declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, clear desk policy.
- Ensure BC plan is documented, agreed with In-Country team and tested for all the processes as agreed.
- Responsible for timely update and maintenance of RCAs, BIAs, PLAs and ensuring all other documents like the SOPs are in place and updated.
Customer/ Stakeholder
- Drive performance to agreed service levels and manage In-Country teams’ expectations in a timely and professional manner.
- Establish and maintain effective relationship with business areas and identify areas of service improvements by implementing regular calls and feedback mechanism.
- Operational capability must be maintained all year round given the frequency of reporting periods (monthly plus additional requirements quarterly, half-yearly and annually).
- Manage / Support In-Country relationship effectively.

- Working within a fast moving and demanding environment with significant regulatory changes and strict timelines.
- Working with senior management stakeholders directly and managing effective delivery and communication.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- BCom /M Com/ CA(Inter)/ CWA (Inter): 6+ Years
- CA/CWA/MBA: 5+ Years
- High level analytical skills, including the ability to look at the bigger picture and interpret data & trends in the context of business, as well as
- the ability to work quickly & accurately to tight deadlines.
- Exposure to multiple systems and database handling.
- Basic understanding on risk and controls framework in an organization.
- Understanding of SOX controls and internal controls framework.
- Ability to understand numbers and their impact drive and achieve accuracies across report deliveries.
- Flexibility to work in accordance with Business requirements.
- Strong Understanding of IFRS related provisions.
- Capable of working with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into process / data maps, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and being solution oriented.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and an ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with ability to adapt to changing situations and to understand issues quickly.
- Willing to challenge the status quo, be proactive and innovative in driving change.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS office related products i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.
