We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Open Banking Engagement Strategy Senior Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

Open Banking Product (OBP) is a joint business and operations business function responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of HSBC’s Open Banking (OB) operations globally within HSBC Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO). The function partners with Open Banking Technology within Wealth Services Technology (WSIT), to manage a customer-facing digital service used by circa 1.6M customers across 18 geographies, including both home markets. This role is within the Performance and Planning function and works with country and regional OB teams across the Hong Kong (HK) market and wider Asia–Pacific (ASP) Region.

In this role you will

  • Manage the Front Door for HK and ASP region, working with WPB and WSB Open Banking channel teams to collect and refine high level business propositions and regulatory requirements, document scope, assumptions, key dependencies, and size demand from all Global Businesses (GB)
  • Ensure funds are secured and demand is channelled into a change pipeline, working in partnership with IT, GB value stream owners, IT COO and the IT delivery teams
  • Support IT Delivery Leads with scope control, change request management and ensure change work is funded and follows defined process regarding prioritisation and resource optimisation
  • Identify and proactively address congestion, escalating to the Head of Performance and Planning where appropriate for resolution
  • Manage pipeline plans by confirming key regulatory and discretionary initiatives and expected delivery timelines with each business line to ensure all team are prepared for the year ahead
  • Understand business priorities and manage stakeholder expectations by providing a clear view of in-flight work in Front Door, so line of business leads can decide how to manage bandwidth changes
  • Have oversight of market scanning and competitor insights for HK and ASP, including major initiatives by competitors.  Proactive identification of opportunities and support for HSBC delivery of innovative open banking propositions to enhance our customer proposition
  • Support for Performance and Planning function across other core tasks including financial management, performance assessment, policy development and regulatory engagement
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Deep domain knowledge of Open Banking and similar frameworks across the ASP region, and key HSBC Group stakeholders in each market
  • End to end understanding of HSBC Digital estate and how Open Banking interacts with it
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of Cloud networks and components, including cost structure usage policies (AWS specific knowledge a primary benefit)
  • Good understanding of enabling legal and regulatory frameworks relating to data privacy, adoption of cloud services, payments and banking
  • End-to-end understanding of customer journeys from external environment through to HSBC estate, and operational support processes
  • Ability to articulate both quantitative and qualitative information, and drive outcomes proactively with this varied group of stakeholders as this role spans multi-disciplinary teams including business owners, technical experts and operational service support teams
