  • To achieve the vision, DAO ESG aims to implement scalable solutions to ensure ESG data is available and accessible on time and accurately, to enable HSBC’s commercial and committed aspirations.

What you’ll do:

  • Working closely with the ESG Product Manager and DAO Portfolio Management team to ensure alignment of delivery with the wider change portfolio and DAO Strategy
  • Continuously improve ways of working and drive an agile continuous improvement culture, coaching colleagues across DAO ESG on how to enable agile delivery at pace
  • Influencing the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around ways of working, plans, commitments and changes
  • Owning functional management responsibility for 3-5 team / project resources
  • Establishing and leading robust governance including clear sponsorship in accordance with HSBC’s Change Framework
  • Effective planning and execution including escalating and resolving risks, issues and dependencies and tracking updates. Making recommendations to influence decision-making to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
  • Proactively managing baselined scope, requirements, benefits, schedule, and budget demonstrating clear ability to deliver to commitments
  • Managing stakeholder and senior management relationships across different markets and GBGFs
  • Deliver key trainings, coach and partner with Pod Leads, Product Owners and teams to implement and embed ways of working improvements
  • Establish and implement metrics to optimise delivery and measure business agility in terms of predictability, reliability and adaptability
  • Lead assessment of ways of working and team maturity
  • Coach key roles on their responsibilities, advising on cadence and meeting techniques, and defining inputs and artefacts
  • Drive sharing of best practice and challenge where best practice / behaviour is not evident, so that team/s continue to improve and reduce and or eliminate errors
  • Promotes pace and energy within Pods and teams
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Extensive project management skills and experience of managing large and complex global projects in a change environment is paramount. Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Manager role
  • Strong stakeholder management experience from Exco level to analysts, specialising in impactful communication with ability to influence stakeholders across geographies
  • Proven delivery of on time and on budget projects that achieve business case stated outcomes with strong attention to detail and a solution-oriented approach 
  • Experience in applying Agile & Lean Frameworks in project and product development
  • Understanding of SAFe and Agile with hands-on experience in Scrum, Kanban, and / or Lean - Agile certification(s) advantageous (e.g. SAFe)
  • Strong skills in Confluence and Jira – including administration, reporting and automation
  • Experience as a change agent leading process improvements in Agile Transformation implementation in Global / Multi-national companies
  • Familiarity with the HSBC standards and processes
  • Impeccable written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Experience of working on a regional scale (i.e. across time zone & geography and with remote teams) and success working within a global matrix organization model

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within ESG
  • Good understanding of the industry and the challenges and changes in the sector.
  • Covers a wide range of activities that require evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated perhaps novel situations
  • Seeks ways of improving and adapting day to day departmental activities and will actively seek authority to implement them
  • Latitude to make decisions outside of established procedures but within a policy framework.  Broad guidelines are available.  Role implements strategy set by others.
  • The role requires the ability to guide, persuade and influence others through the developed skills of communication and diplomacy.
  • The role requires the ability to negotiate and influence within their team with a high level of influence.
