  • The FA Automation Support and Transformation Team (FAST) is the tip of the spear in the spaces of light weight/bespoke automation, process mapping, workflows and visualization. We utilize a wide range of state-of-the-art tools like Python, Appian, Casewise, Xcepotor, PowerBI, Fusion Insights to name a few. This team ensures a stead inflow of ideas into the Automation Book of Work and applied the above-mentioned tools to provide technical solutions to our partner teams.
  • The team has a specialized role which covers aspects of Business Analysis/Consulting (to gather requirements and solution proposal), Technical SME skill (to self-deliver or support the delivery of the envisioned solution) and Project Management (to manage the execution of the Automation BoW).
  • We are also instrumental in deliver training interventions to support and strengthen the overall “Citizen Development Ecosystem” within FA. Some of our key would be to:
  • Delivery point to point or bespoke technology solutions for all elements listed in the Automation BoW.
  • Strengthen the “Citizen Development Model” within FA.
  • We are looking for ambitious, agile and talented individuals to help the shape a “Future Ready FA”. Who can collaboratively manage and lead a set of talented technologists who support various internal functions of FA.

The Opportunity:

  • The role holder will be part of the FA Automation Support and Transformation Team (FAST) of Financial Accounting working in conjunction with our partner teams to deliver the best technology solutions based on the items listed as part of the FA Automation BoW.
  • Be an advocate and champion for the automation initiatives across Financial Accounting.
  • Lead solution architecting activities and support their implementation across our partner teams.
  • Support the creation of reusable solutions, canonical data models and supporting artifacts to be used for reporting, analytics and forecasting within FA.
  • Support delivery of new or re-engineered global processes in a standardized way with high levels of automation using tools prescribed by HSBC.
  • Help operationalize and integrate new technologies and solutions into our BAU working to create a “Future Ready FA”.
  • Work using agile methodologies and tools like Scrum, Kanban, JIRA etc.
  • Support in up-skilling and training interventions across FA.

What you’ll do:

  • This role can wither be an individual contributor or a team leader who will be a key team member in the FAST team who will drive solution architecture and delivery across partner teams in FA.
  • Establish yourself as a Transformation and Automation SME to help FA become “Future Ready FA”.
  • Independently lead and deliver work packets for project/program management teams, internal process and business, external vendors, delivery partners including CDO, IT/ITID and subject matter experts in support of cloud, automation and related deliverables.
  • Working collaboratively to identify standardization, simplification and opportunities within FA and PAN HSBC initiatives.
  • Perform business analysis activities which entails in-depth understanding of existing process activities; preparing end to end process mapping in tools like Casewise/Visio/ARIS.
  • Independently lead project management activities including but not limited to C&I, communications, training, establishment of project governance as prescribed in the Change Framework.
  • Performing Feasibility studies, POCs culminating to automation solutions as per business requirement; Documentation of all project related artifacts as per Change Framework.
  • Contribute to PAN HSBC level initiatives. E.g., Digital workstream, Design Studio, etc.
  • Act as a champion and enabler in the ‘Digital Enablement’ ecosystem for Future Skills for Finance.
  • Consult, mentor and guide fellow associates on more than two tools like JIRA, Xceptor, Appian, ARIS, Alteryx, Python, Tableau, Power BI, Fusion Insights and Qlik.
  • Responsible for identifying, logging and governance of controls alongside data quality issues within FA; Contribute to reduce overall Ops risk by EUC & MSII remediation.
  • Contribute towards the agile way of working by leading Scrum related ceremonies and artefacts like Daily Stand Up Meetings, Maintain Kanban, Requirements Back Log, Burn Down Charts etc.
  • Establish yourself as Agile SME to build Agile capabilities within FA.
  • Design and implementation of a Citizen Developer ECO system and supporting activities for fellow colleagues in FA.
  • Build a roadmap and synergies between EUC remediation and FA and HSBC level automation initiatives.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Ability to understand and analyse FA related data and reports with the ability to lead discussions aiming to improve and optimize existing business processes.
  • Identify opportunities to apply design led thinking approach to existing business problems to arrive at class leading solution leveraging existing or new technologies.
  • Perform in-depth analysis on FA related datasets to identify CDE/BDE gaps, data lineage and process related improvements.
  • Ability to identify and drive process re-engineering and derive synergies across teams when designing technology solutions across PAN FA and HSBC initiatives.
  • Ability to collaborate across large geographically spread teams and build consensus in challenging situations to deliver complex and multi technology solutions.
  • Ability to deliver large training and open discussions across diverse end users within HSBC.
  • Advanced knowledge in project management and corresponding mapping to Change Framework, Certification in Project Management or in Agile.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of cloud technology and its underlying infrastructure.
  • Advanced knowledge of data modelling, analysis, analytics and visualization is required, e.g. in Oracle Fusion Insights, Power BI, etc.
  • Advanced end to end working knowledge in two or more automation, workflow & visualization tools.
  • Ability to manage entire testing lifecycle including defect management, test case generation, test planning and supporting documentation in line with Change Framework standards.
  • Ability to act as a business analyst to conduct requirements gathering and feasibility studies across business problems.
  • Advanced end to end working knowledge in at least one tool being used across the Bank for process modelling and mapping, E.g. Case wise, BPMN notation.
  • Ability to architect solutions leveraging existing HSBC systems using cloud and other inhouse technologies like Big Data etc. to solve current and potential business problems.
  • Experience of implementing governance and solution approaches that have a direct impact on EUC and MSII reduction.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Professional Certification in Cloud like GCP, AWS or similar
  • Professional Certification in Project Management like Prince2, PMP or similar
  • Professional Certification in Agile like CSM, CSPO or similar
  • Professional Certification is Business Analysis like CBAP or similar.
  • Knowledge on Agile tools like JIRA or similar
  • Knowledge on Data Management and modelling tools like Collibra, Atlas, ARIS or similar.
  • Knowledge in statistical modelling.
