The Opportunity:

  • The purpose of the Project Manager – Transformation is to manage the end-to-end process re-engineering / transformation activities that will achieve a measurable change.
  • The role extends in anticipating business and customer requirements, designing new process improvement delivery models, Target operating models and designing technology solutions & directly responsible for delivering transformation linked to Operational Key Results (OKRs) & 4C+S (Customer, Colleague, Cost, Control and Scalability)

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for leading small/medium scale transformation and reengineering projects & initiatives or support Senior Project Manager in managing a large transformation program in order to deliver an agreed set of business objectives and meeting the overarching portfolio strategy of one or more of the Transformational Programs
  • Identify and develop innovative solutions to existing business problems with solutions deploying a mixture of technology and automation solutions as well as process simplification and end to end redesign
  • Designing operating model and service offering of Central Operations
  • Execute AI and innovation initiatives to deliver optimal solutions and enterprise value, ensuring that these initiatives are aligned with strategic objectives and operational needs.
  • Driving, managing, monitoring and reporting progress, issues, dependencies and risks to the programme management, internal stakeholders and/or steering committees. Making recommendations to influence decision-making to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation.
  • Mobilize right support for reengineering projects and ensuring designs are translated into implementation- including Tech funding ask, Business case creation, supporting Jira work for demand intake process.
  • Has a strong understanding of data to support opportunity identification –support the working group meetings, partners with key stakeholders
  • Anticipate issues and risks and address them quickly, with an understanding of the critical path. Contemplate contingencies and develop strategies to manage risks,
  • Collaborate with other enablers & teams i.e. Automation, Technology, Operation Transformation Program Office to drive Global and local re-engineering initiatives.
  • Manage budget and resources ensuring efficient use of funds and personnel.
  • Continuous improvement – identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize delivery, processes and practices.
Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Candidate with 8+ years of overall operational transformation experience and a variety of skills related to executing high and medium complexity projects and consulting engagements.
  • Good experience in Project Management and process improvement initiatives internally or other large complex organizations. Good understanding of overall banking and financial/consulting services industry knowledge will be preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to consider alternative and innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to navigate appropriately at all levels of the organisation; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualisations.
  • Good understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes and objectives
  • The jobholder is required to work in an environment of significant ambiguity and will likely to be delegated to deal with issues for which there is no clear solution whilst being able to provide judgment and clear direction.
  • Outstanding organisational and planning skills with experience of management of multiple complex programmes/business transformations, with knowledge on when and how to re-prioritise, or escalate as required.
  • Strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent team player with ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Manage risks and issues proactively, track, mitigate and escalate; where required.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Understanding of HSBC Change framework
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external 'regulators.'
  • To continually re-access the operational risks inherent in the business, ta account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures and the impact of new technology in conjunction with the donor Group companies.
  • Responsible for one’s own performance. Required to ensure that the service levels are maintained at its optimum level.
  • Understanding of the Enterprise  Operations, including policies, services, systems and processes.
  • Understanding of the services, structure, and leadership of the current state Shared Service / GSC offering globally
  • Experience of senior management responsibility of a large function / portfolio.
