Role Purpose

The Data and Analytics Office (DAO) was established to transform HSBC into a truly data-driven organisation by ensuring that every design decision has a built-in data consideration. As DAO we will provide leadership that enables data and analytics to be a key driver of our business strategy. Working closely in partnership with senior stakeholders and delivery teams all over the world to connect the business processes, data, products, services, and technology that underpin customer value and financial success. 
Data & Analytics Office (DAO) leads the bank’s data transformation, managing a $200m global investment to deliver secure, reliable data that drives informed decisions and business value.

The Reg-X data team plays a key role in strengthening data controls and governance as part of the “Protect Our Data” strategy.
Reg-X typically refers to "Regulatory Execution" or a Regulatory Data team within a financial institution, Reg-X is a specialized team focused on ensuring compliance with data-related regulatory requirements (like BCBS 239). Managing and governing data used in regulatory reporting. Supporting risk, finance, and compliance functions by ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and trustworthy
Reg-X Data Governance would focus on applying data governance principles to regulatory data, ensuring that the bank meets its regulatory obligations through proper data controls, lineage, quality, and lifecycle management.

In this role you will  

• Ensure compliance with BCBS 239 data governance requirements across applicable regions
• Maintain and improve Data Management Policy and BCBS239 advisory and support documents, ensuring easily accessible, understood, current and aligned with processes and services.
• Maintain and improve the bank’s BCBS239 compliance interpretation, ensuring it is current, understood, communicated, aligned to policy and processes and fit for purpose.
• Identify key controls / monitoring / evidence criteria
• Work with BAU workstreams and sub functions to drive improvements in compliance status where required
• Ensure data in monitoring dashboards is accurate. Maintain and enhance data governance tools, templates, and frameworks specific to BCBS 239
• Monitor data-related operational risks and support remediation activities

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Knowledge of BCBS239 and Data Management Policy, guidelines and data procedure requirements 
•    Familiarity with regulatory reporting and risk data requirements
•    Aptitude in using data governance frameworks, controls and tools
•    Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills

This role is based in Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Edinburgh, Chester, Manchester UK Hybrid.
